Chapter 3 - The Maze

After what seemed like hours, Alex and Kitten were still lost. They came to the 198th dead end, but this time, there was a note floating on the red liquid. Alex went to pick it up, and from his view, it was blank. But when he picked it up he got a vision of Karma as a human yelling for help, and she was transforming into a demon. When Alex came to his senses he fell backwards into Kitten's arms. "Alex!! Are you okay?!" Alex clutched his head, it was pounding. "Y-yeah." Alex winced. He pulled his hand from his head and it was bleeding. When Kitten saw his hand and hair stained with blood, she helped him up. "We have to get you to a hospital." 

Kitten, with her amazing strength had been hauling Alex around on her shoulders. Finally! Kitten turned into a corner with a metal square entrance into a ventilation system. Kitten woke up Alex, and even though his head was pounding, he trucked on. Crawling through the vents the two saw that one vent led to a cell room with two dead inmates, the other led to the police office and all the cops in the room lying on the ground dead. Alex barfed before continuing. Once they reached the end, it led into a small dirt hole, which they followed, that led to a ladder, which led to the middle of the desert.  Alex fell to the ground, coughing up blood, when he heard footsteps. Kitten blocked Alex as Karma slowly approached. She stood about two yards away, and she started laughing. Kitten was scared, but she couldn't show it. "What do you want?!?" Kitten's voice cracked, showing her fear. Karma's white, piercing white eyes locked onto Kitten's innocent blue eyes. "I want Alex to be mine forever. YOU DON'T DESERVE HIM!!!!" Karma screamed, pointing at Kitten. "And until you give up Alex to me...." Karma snapped, and Kitten went flying into the air, screaming. "You will know the true meaning of pain." Karma released Kitten, and she fell down hard next to Alex, passing out. Alex dizzily got up. "YOU LEAVE US ALONE KARMA!!!" Alex, no longer resisting the pain, passed out next to Kitten.
