I came walking down the hallway of Oliver W Winch Middle School with a smile on my face. God, Joey can be hillarious . All of a sudden someone comes up behind me and shoves me. Now before you get the wrong idea, I'm very small and skinny ,making me quite light. So when someone comes up behind me and shoves me out of the blue, I go flying. One minute I come walking calmly down the hall grinning like a fool, the next I'm flying down the hall. " God Meg , you can't do that! You scared the crap out of me!"
" sorry." Meg says with a smirk on her face. She then laughed and walked away. As she walked away I realized I too was laughing and smiling . That is why me and Meghan are friends. She can make anyone laugh anytime and anywhere. In all the commotion I forgot to even see is Logan was here today. Logan and I had been friends since the start of the school year and today was his birthday. I looked by his locker to see him laughing and smiling with his friend Nico. God is Nico annoying . Will he ever give up on the the fact me and Logan are NOT dating? As I enter my locker combination into my lock I see Julia come out of our home room , number 210 and by my locker. Since our last names are so close we sit next to each other a lot and it's hard not to become friends. As soon as I put all my junk in my locker, Julia and I walk into homeroom only to find miss. Fish. Miss. Fish is one of the best subs out there . For many reasons . The biggest one in ,my opinion is that she is young and understands us. As soon as the bell rings Patrick comes in he door. " God why is my bus always late " he says, which is a very good question to ask. Anyway homeroom goes on and soon enough the bell rings and we all file out of the classroom to begin our day. Mine starting with facing ELA with Mrs. Leroux . I walk down the hallway and I see a guy shoving some kid into lockers , both laughing and screaming like their having the time of their life. Some of you might be alarmed to read this but let me assure you , it is not like this in every middle school. In Oliver Winch however it is quite normal. Anyway I walked into ELA anticipating what on earth the movie of the book The Outsiders, which we had been analyzing and picking apart for the last month held in store for us. We sat down at our seats and of course , Mrs Leroux gives us a 10 minute lecture on being appropriate during the " viewing of the timeless film" we all just nodded our heads because we were all ready for the movie to start. Finally she ended her lecture with how it is ok to cry and there is no shame is showing your emotions during the film. Now call me a heartless monster but I haven't cried at any movie or book with the exception of The Hunger Games. Well anyway the movie started with a downright awful song about "staying Gold". The movie went on for about half an hour or so. Before the bell sounded, Mrs Leroux made sure to remind us of our homework. Comparing male elephants to the "greasers" in The Outsiders. Finally the bell rand and it was on to art with Mrs Carlson . At least I would see Abby. I walked down the hall and onto the art room and took my seat. Of course, Abby was already there. Me and Abby have been friends ever since the 2nd grade. Eventually, more and more people flood into the room. I start to read the board to myself and realize we are in for a treat today. " welcome everyone! How was your weekend"
" good " the whole class mumbles back.
"Who wants to read the #1 on the board?"a few hands go up, mine not included. Now let's get something straight before you start to judging me. I consider myself to be pretty artistic, but mrs. Carlson treats the whole class like we are 7 years old. And I hate being treated like I am an idiot when I'm not. Anyway once we waste 20 minutes reading the board and mrs. Carlson explaining every word, we finally get to do some actual art. Unfortunately we are in the middle of our zentangle project. What is a zentangle you ask ? Good question because no one can explain it ... Even mrs. Carlson does a poor job of describing them. Since no one can explain them it's better I use a picture ...There you go. That is a zentangle. Once we finally got to draw this "masterpiece" we had about 15 minutes to do this. Luckily I'm pretty fast ( for some things) so I finished fairly fast. The bell rang and it was off to social studies.
