The Baroque Period saw many talented musicians, notably Scarlatti, Bach and Vivaldi, trying their hands at composing for a variety of instruments, whether it was for orchestra or solo instrument.

So, without further ado, here's a list of the best music of the Baroque Period.

1. The Four Seasons by Vivaldi

A majority of you would've already heard of this famous violin concerto and maybe just did not know its title. It is quite lively and vibrant in character and very catchy. Despite its extensive duration, it is downright engaging from the beginning to the very end.

2. Canon in D major - Johann Pachelbel

Again, I am willing to bet that a considerable amount of people will have heard this soothing melody at some point in their lives. I would highly recommend you guys to try your hand at this, as it is relatively easy but astonishingly beautiful nonetheless.

3. 48 preludes and fugues by J. S. Bach

The video features the Bach Prelude and Fugue No. 1.

The 48 Preludes and Fugues are regarded as the most influential works of the Baroque Period. I do not recall playing any pieces from the 48 Preludes and Fugues, but they were one of the best compositions for piano in the Baroque Period.

4. Hallelujah - from Handel's Messiah

This piece isn't exactly very peaceful, but it is very well known, and you just might find yourself singing it subconsciously after your end-of-year exam.

~end note~

There weren't as many works composed in the Baroque Period, and most of the pieces I play or played were published after this period, so I apologise that this list is short. Do let me know in the comment what I missed out on, and I'll be sure to check it out and add it onto the list!
