"You're insane." I said, rolling my eyes at Rosie. She pouted, clearly not happy with my comment.
"Rude!" She fake-gasped, her hand going over her heart. "You're so hurtful."
I felt my cheeks heat up slightly. Why did I always blush at embarrassing moments? I looked down at my plate, poking the rice with my fork. "I'm sorry." I said quietly.
Rosie clicked her tongue. "Hmph. I was kidding, Marisol." She sighed, before I heard her taking a bite out of her taco. "Anyways, maybe we could hang out more often." Her mouth was full as she spoke, and it was kind of cute.
"Me?" I questioned, looking at her with a raised eyebrow. "Honestly, don't you think that hanging out with me could ruin your reputation?"
Rosie scoffed, flipping her hair over her shoulder. "The kids at school like me. Too much, actually. If I hang out with you, the worst that could happen is you become popular and they hate you even more." I looked at her with a face that screamed, 'are you serious?'. "BUT, if you're popular, everyone would be too afraid to do anything about it."
I rolled my eyes, taking a drink of my water. "Just wait. We will go back to school tomorrow and everyone will tease me like usual. Nothing will change because of tonight. Are you done?" I asked, waving over a waitor. He gave me my check.
"Marisol," Rosie said, pulling a twenty out of her purse. I immediately pushed it away. "Stop it, let me pay. But I was saying that it doesn't matter what people say. Everyone knows you're a lesbian, they just have to get over it."
I put thirteen dollars and fourty cents on the table. "But they don't. Let it go, Rose, it's fine. I'll drive you home." I stood up, as she put five bucks down for a tip. We left the restaurant.

The next day, school went on as I had predicted. First period was a drag, but second period was worse.
"Hey Damien." I said, sitting in my usual spot next to Damien. He didn't even bother to look up from his paper as he scribbled away.
"Hey," He mumbled.
"Wow, really interested in German today?" I asked, raising an eyebrow. He sat back in his chair and stared at the paper, setting his pencil down.
"It's not German. I have to perfect this letter to Jared. I did something really stupid and now he won't talk to me." He explained. Jared was his boyfriend of three months. They were really cute together but they got in fights a lot.
I smiled at him comfortingly. "I'm sure he'll love it."
I watched as this girl, Krem, walk in with Jenali at her side. I hated Jenali. She always started the teasing. And almost as if she was trying to prove my point, she looked at me and whispered something to Krem. Krem started laughing.
Suddenly, someone tapped my shoulder. I was praying that it was Rosie, but she doesn't take German. It was Rider Norshal, that guy Rose walked into class with the other day. I stared at him, wating for him to say something.
"Listen," He basically hissed at me. "I know you're trying to turn Rosie into a lesbian."
"What the h--"
"Don't even think of it anymore. She's going to date me when I ask her out today. Sorry, but your little game is over." Then he went to his desk.
I sat back in my seat and scoffed. You can't even change your sexuality when you feel like it. It doesn't work like that. But of course, that wasn't important. What was important is that Rider was going to ask out Rosie. Rosie would say yes. My chance was gone.
What chance?

At lunch, Rosie wasn't in the cafeteria. I looked around anxiously, before deciding to check the bathrooms. I got up and excused myself from my friends, before walking out of the cafeteria. I headed to the girls restroom, opening the door and walking in.
I kind of expected to see Rosie here, but not what I saw.
"R-Rosie?" I asked with a shaky voice. Sure enough, it was Rose who turned to look at me.
Rosie's eyes widened. "Marisol--"
"Why..." I cut her off. "Why are you making out with Rider?"
