Perfect Summer of Avery

"Avery,the only sensible human being"

"Come on,"

"Your such a stress head"

These choruses could be heard from Avery's friends, all trying to convince her to go for a midnight dip with them.

"Come on, what's the point of a birthday sleepover celebration without any fun" one of her four friends piped up.

"Oh thanks, so now this sleepover is boring" Avery scoffed and then scowled.

It was 11:30 at night and Avery's parents had promised to stay out of her business for the night. Her sister, Scarlett, was also in her bedroom. Hopefully sleeping.

"If we do sneak out" Avery reconsidered her opinion "promise me we'd go in our bathers, right?"

"Pfff, yeah of course" they all muttered. Even though Avery was extremely smart she couldn't pick that they all where looking at her like she was a five year old. Not just turned 15. They also happened to be lying.

"Ok fine, but promise me you won't do anything stupid?"

They all promised and gathered their belongings before sneaking out Avery,s sliding door. Once they where outside the house they put on their flip flops and waddled down the back path to the beach. Avery had only been down to the beach a couple of times of a night. Once when she was young and couldn't sleep, and the next when she was about eleven to watch the New Year's Eve fire works.

As soon as the five girls hit the sand it got caught in their shoes so they flipped them of and walked barefoot the rest of the way down the path. The girls dropped their belongings on the sand near a fence post.

"Race you to the jetty"

One of the girls said and everyone followed.

"Hey that's not fair, you got a headstart"

They laughed and threw their T-shirts into the sand. They stopped at the jetty at which point the race ended and they pulled of their shorts. The girls looked at each other and shared a submersive wink. Avery was obviously out of the loop as the others started to take off their bikini tops and bottoms.

"Hey, hey, what are you doing? I thought we agreed not to do this"

Avery shouted in protest

The other girls surrounded her. One of them said " well think about it, we're at the beach, its just us and its midnight. The perfect way to kick off your first day as fifteen." All of Avery's friends where about to turn sixteen so she was a little less sure about everything as they where.

The circle that surrounded Avery grew closer and closer until there was no room to escape. They all pitched in and made a wall. Two of the girls -Indigo and Tashi pulled down her bottoms.

"Hey." Avery shouted as she scramble to pull them back up but the girls stood their ground. The other girl -Stacey-untied her bikini top while the next one - Chloe held her arms to stop her from flailing.

"Now, doesn't that feel good," the leader of the group- Stacey- said.

"You can consider this your initiation to our group." She continued. " seeing as you have only been with us for one month" Stacey let of a little laugh and then checked her watch." Three minutes to midnight. Incase you didn't know we are gonna jump in at midnight." Just as Stacey had finished her sentence the girls heard some hoots and whistles. One "looking hot." Could be heard from the shore.

" I told you this was a bad idea" Avery tried to snatch away from the group but with four against 1 she was stuck. "We have to wait until midnight." Chloe said. She was the next most important. Stacey checked her watch again
