Tui's POV

"Alright guys, so I finally managed to convince the league to replace the coach for a new one. So today we won't have a coach, but I can still lead practice like before. Sound good everyone?" Kat announced as we were getting ready for baseball practice. "Finally you got rid of that old man, I was tired of his shit." Jayden said, looking relieved and happy to hear the news. "Nicky agrees with Jayden." Nicky remarked.

"He was so chill though, why would you want to get rid of the guy?" Jessica asked Kat. Kat scoffed and spat at the idea of him not deserving the termination. "He did nothing to help us. He'd just show up and take a nap, I was pretty much the coach. Plus in games he switches out either too early or too late and that's when we mess up." Kat explained to her, making Jessica shrug and eventually agreed
with her. "Any ideas on who the new coach is and how good they are?" Joe asked. Kat shook her head and got a clipboard out. "Hey, why do you get the assistant coach's clipboard?" Mauro asked, sounding annoyed.

"Because I'm better than all you clowns so I deserve it, duh." She replied, sticking her tongue out and flipping pages. "As if, you can't even hit a homerun." Jayden barked. Kat didn't seem to care what he had to say, if I didn't know any better she doesn't like the guy at all. They're more bitter rivals than anything, and I can see why. Those two are definitely the best in the team and are fighting for the number one spot. "Anyway, I think it would be a good idea for outfielders to work on pop flies, basemen on grounders, pitchers in the bullpen with Carlos, and I think that'll be good for now." Kat told everyone.

We all nodded and went to our positions and I went to the bullpen. "Hey, Tui, where are you going?" Kat asked, looking a bit peeved. "I'm gonna practice my pitching, why?" I asked.

"No no no, I want you to try out second base." She said, I was puzzled by her request. She gave me a look, a look that easily intimidates me. So I agreed and went over to the field and stood next to Mauro. "Hm? Tui, aren't you going to practice your pitching?" He asked. I looked behind me and noticed Kat was talking things over with Jessica, Luna, and Jayden. I was surprised Jayden wasn't working on third base. "I'm so confused too, but it's whatever. Can you teach me how to be a second basemen?" I asked him.

"Well, I'm a first basemen not a second. I could give you a few tips." He told me. I nodded and he went on to show me the proper form when catching a grounder and tips on how to dive for a ball...

Practice was finally over and I made some good progress with my second basemen skills. "Hey Kat." I said to the ginger, she turned around and put her backpack on. "What's up?"

"I was just wondering... why did you ask me to go try out second base?" I pondered. She gave me a smirk and put her hat on. "Because outfield isn't a position I want you to be in. Second base is something you should really consider, it's a good fit for you. Trust me when I say this." She told me, I looked at second base and never thought I would be a good basemen. But having her encourage me kinda makes me believe I can at least try. "I also got John more into being a catcher. I want him to be catching for us instead of Carlos, Carlos is fast and we need that in the shortstop position. That's why I want them to trade spots. That, and because John complies more with what I want."

"John? As a catcher?"

"Sure! He'll be your catcher too ya know. I told you two to work together off the field, have you been doing that?"

"No..."

"Then maybe you should start."

She stretched and began to walk away after burping. "If you two get some practice in, it'll build up your chemistry as players. I promise you two are a good mix. Just take my word for it." She reminded me. I nodded and she walked off, waving. "Later, Denz. Bring your pops in the next practice would ya?"
