Hey, do you remember me ?
I'm the girl you whistled at on the bus.
You really don't remember ?
I'm the same girl that you hit on the butt.
Did you see the terrified look on my face ?
The look of wanting to curl up in a ball and hide ?
Maybe not.
Maybe you forgot that I am human because you're too focused on your goal. In your small brain, Life is a game and getting me to sleep with you is the prize.
But maybe it's not your fault that you victimize.
It's not your fault that young girls are taught to idolize your almighty figure.
Maybe it's not you, but society.
Society is the disease that is deep inside of you and me and it eats away at the goodness that we keep locked away.
Society portrays women as sexual beings waiting to be forced by you to please.
But if we don't want you, we are whores.
If we save our selves we are a tease.
If we give our selves up we are sluts.
And it's not fair if we tell you no and we must be crazy.
But it's not fair that society teaches our young girls that they have to share their bodies.
If we won't give our bodies up to your sick fantasies then we don't want to be loved.
Because there is no other way to feel love.
Because love is not telling us that we are beautiful. It is not to shelter us like a glove shelters our hands from the cold.
Society teaches our young boys that No means Yes and Stop means Go.
We show young boys that you can violate women because we are asking for it.
And why should they respect women when our legal system admits will only give them 6 months if they're caught and they will get out in 3 if they are good.
Because society says that sex and force makes up their manhood.
But when good girls get raped we are asked
What were you wearing
You should have not have been out that late.
When all she said was no and stop and he kept going because society says that if a girl calls rape she will gain notoriety in the press because she was intoxicated and when her consciousness faded you felt entitled to her body,
you took away her bridal present for her spouse.
Society teaches young boys that they are the cat and girls are the mouse.
The disease whispers to boys to yell
hey honey
to get a girls attention instead of the thoughtful and effective way of saying
Hi may I sit and talk to you for awhile
It teaches them to whistle
Hey baby what's your name
At me which turns my walk home to my walk of shame.
Because of society you think life is a game and I am the prize.
But you didn't see me flinch and cry inside. Turning my music up to drown out the
Come here buttercup
But now you know your flaws
So there should be no reason why when I walk out of this room I should see you on the prowl to take a girl away in the night.
After this I have one question;
Do you remember now ?
