Eleanor's POV

"Hi what would you like today?" I happily ask the man standing in front of the counter.

I remember him, he's been coming in on my shift as a regular for the past month.

He smiles, "Hello, can I get just an unsweetened venti green tea latte with little to no ice?" He replies.

I generously smile, mainly because it's my job but also because he's a regular and I practically know his order by heart but I find humour in asking him his order everyday.

I ring up his price and hesitantly take his credit card as he hands it to me while shuffling through his wallet. Handing it back to him I see him pull out what seems to be a business card. He looks up at me and slides the card over to me.

"I've been watching you for a while and I'd like you to give me a call." He states.

What is this man talking about? Does he think I need money so he thinks I'd sell myself for him? Or does he just think I need to get out of this dump, Starbucks, and start something better? Only because I know that's what I need I do.

This job isn't paying for nearly half of my schooling at Uni and I know my parents agreed to help but I just couldn't find myself to accept their offer.

He walks away and sits down in a chair awfully far from the front counter.

I look up at the clock, it reads 14:58, Charley won't mind me going on break two minutes early, I clock out and order a chocolate chai tea latte.

I look over at the man and see him swiping away at his phone.

I've always wondered what it was like having such a nice, expensive phone. Stuff like that is considered a luxury to me. I promised myself I would upgrade from this 1st generation touch screen phone once Uni was paid off.

I stride over to the man and sit in the comfy sofa next to him.

He looks up and smiles then looks back at his iPhone.

"What's all this about?" I ask as I pull the card out of my back pocket and wave it at him.

He chuckles, "Read it." He replies.

So I do as told.

"Robert Tooly CEO of Modest! Management," I say aloud. "What's Modest! Management?" I ask.

"Robert, Green Tea Latte!" shouts Alyssa.

The man that I've just discovered is named Robert stands up from his seat and thrusts his hand towards me.

"Nice talking to yo- I never got your name?" He sort of asks with a grin on his face.

"Eleanor, my name is Eleanor, it's on my name tag." I rudely reply as I stand up.

We shake hands and he chuckles.

"I know your name, I just wanted to hear you say it. I wanted to hear the confidence in your voice. Call me if you're ever interested in leaving this place." He says, then he walks away to get his drink and exits out of the side door.

Who is that man, I ask myself.

Why does he make himself seem to be so important?

He can't be that special, I've never even heard of Modest! Management.

Plus, who tells someone they've been 'watching them for a while'?

And what does he mean by saying for me to call him if I ever wanna leave my job? I'm doing fine here, what can he have to offer me?
