Chapter One: Rainbows, Unicorns and Poke

I walked towards school, pondering on the thought of how my first day of high school would go. I'm starting my freshman year of high school today. Just three more years and I'd be done with school. I heard the sweet sounds of the bird chirping. Not. All I heard was the babies crying. I just hate this neighbourhood. There are so many babies here and they wake up early just to bawl. It's like
babyville. The only perk from living in this neighbourhood full of babies is that you have a reliable alarm everyday, but it gets so annoying during the holidays and weekends.

I waited outside school for Lenny to arrive. I took my phone out of my pocket to check the time.
8:18 a.m. What's taking her so long?
To :BFF #1 Len- where r u
To :BFF #1 Li- on my way
To :BFF #1 Len- cm faster
To :BFF #1 Li- k
I pocketed my phone and waited for Lenny. I heard my phone ding and I took it out. It was a text from Lenny. I opened the text and it said look up. Huh, why should I look up. I looked up and saw the cheerful face of Lenny.

"Hi!" I said and hugged her. "You didn't have to text me to,look up." I said.
"I have a knack for being dramatic I suppose." She said and I rolled my eyes.

We opened the double doors of the school and walked in, heading straight to the administration office. Where else would we go on our first day

"Name please?" I heard a stern voice ask as soon as I opened the door. Whoa, not even a 'hello' or a 'good morning'. What a great way to greet new students, I'm sure they would run for the hills.

"Um, Eleanor Fisher." Lenny said and the lady behind the desk handed Len her schedule and locker number along with the code.
"Lisa Adams." I said and she handed me my schedule and locker number and code.
"Could she be any ruder?" I asked Eleanor when we were out of earshot of the mean lady in the administration office.

"Forget about her. What's your locker number?" Lenny asked me. I checked my card before answering her.
"281, what's yours?"
"280. Finally, your locker is next to mine." She said dramatically causing me to chuckle. I put my books and binders that I won't be needing, in the locker and closed the door to see a pair of hazel eyes staring at me.
"What? Is there something on my face?" I asked her.
"No. Your outfit is cute." Len said.
"Thanks, your outfit is cute too." I said. Lenny was wearing a loose striped tshirt with a black skirt and black heels. I was wearing a pair of high waisted jeans and a loosely tucked white shirt along with black converse.
"What do you have first?"
"Maths." She replied.
"Literature." I said with a sad pout.
"It's alright, we might-" Lenny was cut off by the super annoying call to hell a.k.a the bell.
"Bye." I said and hugged Eleanor and walked away.

"Okay, students, my name is Ms Marianne and I am your literature teacher this year. We will be doing 'To kill a Mockingbird' this year and you will get your copy in the next class. As today is just the first day we won't be doing anything." Before she finished her sentence the class erupted with noise.
"Quiet down please and get back to your places." Ms Marianne raised her voice.
"Instead of lessons we will be introducing ourselves." She said and pointed a black haired boy in the corner of the room. He stood up and told his name and I drifted into another world, a world of unicorns and candy and sweet chocolate and poke and sour skittles and poke......
"Stop dreaming in my class." Someone said in my ear.
"Aaaaaah." I screamed and literally shot out of my chair and fell to the floor. Laughter erupted around me.
"Stop dreaming in my class. Is that understood?" She asked and I nodded. I got up and sat back on my chair.
"Who gave you permission to sit?" A voice boomed and made me jump again. The class erupted with laughter again which made the color rush to my cheeks which in turn made the class laugh even more louder if that was possible.
"What's your name?" She asked.
"Lisa Adams."
"Lisa, you are to not dream in my class anymore, is that clearly understood?" She asked.
"Yes ma'am."
"Good, you may sit." She said. I sat down and made sure to not drift into my dreamland again.
