Most people ignore Kat Price and go straight for her perfect, confident and attractive older brother, Finn. The day that Finn goes down for rape, Kat's in the spotlight, Kat's the one with the answers. She also just wants to be left alone, remain invisible and live happily with her mum and her horse without the gossip and drama. So, what happens when a brooding boy with beautiful eyes and a love for horses is thrown into the mix? Eli is the proud new owner of Finn's old mare, Tempest. He doesn't know about Kat's haunting past or why she's so skittish. All he knows is that he's desperate to help.

Headstrong and broken is how Eli describes Kat when he first see's her. But is her past too shattered and her heart too destroyed for Eli to fix?

I think that several stories on wattpad cover paternal, normally physical but ocassionally sexual abuse, but I feel that it's not really portrayed realistically or taken very seriously and by the end of those stories the whole issue is normally brushed aside as if nothing ever happened, which as you know is completely unrealistic.

'She's Broken' is not on of those stories.

Firstly, abuse - if written about - has to be written acurately, which I feel this writer did well without even delving very deep into the graphic side of the abuse. It is mentioned but there aren't actually scenes where the whole issue is written about. Also, the whole story takes place after the abuser (her brother) is arrested and taken away and the story more revolves around how Kat - our protagonist deals with it, how she moves on. What's so good about this story is that it covers how the protagonist felt emotionally, so that aspect of abuse, and the recovery of it and it's really well done too, especially considering this writer is better known for her other books which rotate around lighter plots. She also included some romance but didn't let it overthrow the plot which some writers make the mistake of doing. I've got to hand it to the writer, I did shed a few tears towards the end, this story is, for lack of a better word, brilliant.
