~
You and Suho had grown up together. You guys were best friends, but many people thought you were a couple. You had had feelings for Suho when you were younger, but you let those feelings go since he never showed any romantic feelings towards you.
You and Suho both graduated together and went to the same college, though Suho was ahead of you because he took more classes and he was about to graduate. Suho's parents paid all of his expenses and he didn't have to work but he did because his boss gave him a guarantee that once he graduated he would have a full-time job. You on the other hand were struggling to pay for your last few semesters of college because your parents weren't helping and you had to support yourself. You had 2 part-time jobs that barely gave you enough money to pay your rent, let alone a college tuition. You had never told Suho that you were struggling, he knew you had both of your part-time jobs, but he didn't know that you owed money to the school and you that you could barely afford to feed yourself.
You were working at one of your jobs at the local cafe when one of the mean girls went to high school with came in and sat in your section. You had always had problems with her since she was constantly trying to get with Suho, but he was always with you. You put on your best fake smile and approach her table.
"Hi, welcome to Knight Cafe. What can I get you?"
"OMG, Y/N? Is that you?" She looked up at you with wide eyes.
"Uh...Yeah..." You hesitantly answer.
"It has been so long! What have you been up to?"
"uh...working, school...uh"
"That is so cool. Oh, how is Suho? I mean you were both so close in high school, I just assume you are still friends." She smiles at you with a evil glint in her eyes.
"He's good...uh..he's got a nice job and all that. What would you like to drink?"
"That's great. I'll have a caramel frappe."
"I'll get that for you."
You walk away from her table and take her order and give it to your coworker. As they are making her drink you start to feel uneasy and you really don't want to take her drink to her. Your coworker hands you her drink and you slowly make your way over to her. As you get close to her table she kicks her foot out making you trip and spill the drink on her and yourself.
"AH! Y/N WHY WOULD YOU DO THIS?!"
"I-I didn't mean t-to." You look around wide-eyed. You can see you boss walking toward you and you can tell this won't end well.
"Y/N! GET THIS MESS CLEANED UP AND THEN GET OUT! YOU ARE FIRED!"
You just nod your head and start to clean up the spilled coffee. You hear a small chuckle and when you look up you see the mean girl looking at you, smirking. She gets up and follows your former boss to the employee washroom so she can get cleaned up.
You get back to your apartment and you see a piece of paper on your door. As you reach the door you can see the words written in big, bold letters: NOTICE OF EVICTION: PLEASE VACATE THE RESIDENCE WITHIN 48 HOURS OR FACE CRIMINAL CHARGES. You could not believe it, this day was getting worse and worse. You pull the paper off your door and walk into your apartment. You walk into your living room, which only has an array of lawn chairs and bean bag chairs in it since you couldn't afford a couch. You sink into the nearest bean bag and you finally let out all of the frustrations you were feeling. You didn't know what you were going to do or how you were even going to move all of your stuff in 2 days. You pulled out your phone and dialed the only person who could help, Suho. He answered after the first ring.
"Y/N! What's up?"
"*sniff* S-Suho, I-I need help." You could barely finish your sentence before you broke into full sobs.
"Y/N?! What's wrong? Are you at your apartment?!"
"Y-Yes."
"I'll be there in a few minutes." With those words he hung up. You could only cry harder as you thought about what was happening. You were mentally and physically exhausted, without realizing you fell asleep. You were woken up by the sound of keys being shoved into your front door and heavy steps running into your apartment. You were thankful that you had given Suho your extra key, because you don't feel like moving at the moment.
"Y/N! Where are you?"
"Living room." You replied weakly, but luckily he heard you. Suho ran into the living room and over to you.
"Y/N, what happened? Why are you crying?" Suho looked at you in shock. You had known each other for most of your lives and he had rarely seen you cry.
"My life sucks. I lost my job today and when I got home there was a notice of eviction on my door. Why are they evicting me? I know I have been late on my payments a few times, but I always pay in full!" You tried your hardest not to cry, but your efforts were basically unless.
"Y/N...why didn't you tell me you were struggling? Wait, what about your tuition? If you can barely pay your rent how do you pay tuition during school?" Suho looked at you in shock. You gave him a sad smile.
"I don't. I owe the school the tuition for the last 2 semesters and I probably won't be going next semester."
"Y/N...I could have helped you. You should have told me." Suho had started to tear up. "When do you have to be out of here?" He asked while looking around your apartment.
"I have 2 days. What am I going to do?"
"You'll live with me. I have an extra room and that way you can save money by not having to pay rent." Suho pulled you to your feet and hugged you tightly. "Y/N, let me help pay for your schooling. Please, I can't stand to see you like this." You didn't know how to reply. Yes, help would be nice, but Suho shouldn't have to pay for your schooling. Without realizing it, you had started shaking your head. Suho laughed and pulled away from the hug. "We'll talk about that later, right now let's get your stuff out of here."
You didn't have much, so you were able to get all of your into Suho's SUV. He drove you back to his apartment, which was in a better neighborhood than your previous apartment, and he kept talking about how you guys will be able to see each other more now that you live together and how much he had missed you. You had missed him to and while listening to his sweet voice you drifted off to sleep.
You were roused from your sleep when you felt yourself being lifted from your spot and the gently swaying of someone walking. You open your eyes and looked up at Suho. He looked down at you and smiled. He kept walking as he made his way to his apartment. You heard boys talking as he approached his door, he kicked his door lightly and it opened to reveal Suho's friend, Xuimin. Xuimin smiled at you and opened the door wide enough for Suho to carry you into the living room. Suho placed you on the couch next to his friend Lay.
"Some of the boys and I are going to go grab your stuff. If you need anything ask one of the other boys." Suho said while leading 5 or 6 of the boys out the door. You looked up and saw the rest of Suho's friend group looking at you. You knew the boys since Suho had been excited to introduce you to his new friends and he made you go with them on a weekend vacation. You felt someone rubbing your back and you looked at Lay, he had always known how to make people feel better. A thought came to you and you started to feel bad.
"Were you guys all here hanging out when I called Suho?"
"Yeah, but it's okay. We were all worried when you called. I mean, I don't think I've ever seen Suho moved so fast." Kai told you as he handed you a bottle of water. You smiled up at him and then a kick came from the door. D.O. got up and opened the door and the guys slowly came in carrying all of your stuff, like literally all of your stuff. Suho lead the boys down the hall to the empty room and then they all came back taking seats around the room. Suho walked in and sat next to you, actually he sat on you and you had to scoot over to give him room.
"So, what happened?" Kris asked the question everyone was thinking.
"I lost my job earlier and when I got back to my apartment there was an eviction notice on the door." You told them shortly.
"How did you lose your job?" Beakhyun inquired.
"*sigh* One of the mean girls that Suho and I went to high school with came in and she tripped me, which caused me to spill her drink all over her and myself, that lead to my boss firing me."
"That's bull shit!" Chanyeol exclaims loudly, causing all of you to jump.
"Language." Luhan told him, which made everyone look at him like "Seriously?".
"I'm sorry I interrupted your night." You tell them while looking down.
"We don't care about that, we just want to make sure you're safe." Tao tells you quietly.
"Thanks."
"Okay, I think Y/N has had enough excitement for one day. I will see you boys later." Suho says with authority. The boys all got up and hugged you goodbye. After they had all left, you sat in the living room with Suho.
"Y/N, let me help you."
"Suho, I can't let you pay for me to go to school. I will get another job and work more. I will save my money and when I can afford it I'll go back to school."
"Y/N, that will take years and by then you may not be motivated enough to go back. Let me help you succeed and be successful."
"Suho, that is so much mone-"
"Stop! The money doesn't matter. What matters is that you have a chance to prove your parents wrong."
"How will me letting you pay for my schooling prove them wrong?"
"Because once you finish school you will get a successful job and in a few years you be able to repay me. You will show them that if you have a little help you can be great, well more great than you already are."
"You are so cheesy. Okay, I will let you help me, but you have to let me do stuff around here. I can keep the apartment clean and cook you food."
"My parents pay for a cleaning service but if that is what it takes to help you I'll tell them to cancel it. Oh, and you're not getting a second job, just stick with the one you have and pick up some extra hours. From know on you don't have to worry about making ends meet."
"It sounds like you're my sugar daddy." You tell him while laughing loudly.
"Shut up. Go take a shower and get some rest. Do you work tomorrow?"
"No, I work every other week, so I don't work til next week. I will have to talk to my boss when I go in to get more hours. Why?"
"We are going to go get you more clothes and a better phone because that 2010 flip phone of yours is on it's last leg."
"Suho, you don't have to do that."
"Y/N, you have one backpack of clothes. A backpack, not even a suitcase, but a small backpack." It was true, when your parents told you that you were on your own they only let you take one bag of clothes and one box of your stuff.
"Okay, but not too much." You send him a glare which he just laughs at and pulls you into a hug before releasing you so you can get ready for bed.
The next day, Suho took you to the mall and insisted on buying you a whole new wardrobe. He also bought you new shoes, jewelry, and a new bed set for your room. He bought you a new phone, TV, and some of your favorite movies, animes, and TV shows.
