Dear Time

Dear Time, 

Hey. It's been a while. Years, to be a teeny bit more accurate. I can't seem to find the time with you Time. You keep ticking away every time I try to grasp, to hold on to you. You never stay. If I had a dollar for every time I have said , "Wish I could just freeze this moment and live in it forever," I'd probably have...a few dollars. I'm not going to go and say a million because, hey , I'm a realistic person. I don't go around wishing crazy , illogical things like that all the time Time.

 I wonder how you're going to react to me wasting time this time. After all, I'm writing to you so you can't really bite me in the back for it later. You've got to have a soft side, right? 

I mean, you're literally fluid, on an endless flow, an endless motion . You've seen births and deaths of people, of civilisations, of cultures, of religions, of worlds, of ideas, of hopes, of despair, of hunger, of joy, of sickness, of rays of light, of darkness, of beautiful nights, of sad sunrises, of towering towers, of unsinkable sinkables, of green, of blue, of red, of all the hues! You might've considered me at least once, right? 

You pass by and through everyday, you're literally my life. I've lived with your presence forever around and within me like an angel sent down to watch over, to protect. Like a mother you teach , you adore, you care, you reward, you reprimand, you help heal. 

You're the one constant change which i don't mind, after all this time Time. I've been through endless seconds of you listening, watching, reading, writing, believing. Too many times have I tried to recreate a moment with you from yesterday, the day before, last year, ten years ago , and so will I keep on keeping on.

  I read somewhere that one person's interval of space is another person's interval of both time and space, and one person's interval of time is also another person's interval of both space and time. Thus, space and time are effectively interchangeable, and fundamentally the same damn thing! So much into understanding you, and we think we're complex. I could  use some space, can you please provide that while you're clocking away the hours to my impending death? Well, since I have you then I guess I have Space too, right? So technically I should stop asking for it... No wonder I'm not getting it! I already have it! I already have Space!

Wow, now that's relieving. Time, you sure find the right moments to educate. Sorry for all the curses, the threats, I don't really mean them. I mean, I couldn't hurt a fly, am I right? Okay, can't lie here, you know me too well. You know Me Now, you know Me Yesterday, you have met Possible Me Tomorrows, you know Me Sad, you've made Me Happy, you've partied with Me Stupid, you've slapped Me Surprised. You sure love Me Surprised, don't you?

And alllllllll of that.

I really do. I love that you change and change me. I love that you helped me grow up even if you're ageing me by the second! I love that you care enough to pour some of your wisdom into me as you take me along this epic journey. Thank you for this life. Thank you for the life ahead. Thank you that someone, somewhere, sometime might read this and maybe smile. Thank you for introducing me to exciting things like this place, like the library , like my desk , and my pen. Thank you for continuing to try and smack some sense into me that i'm wasting you. Sorry. I should value you more. I know you deserve someone much better, who treats you right, but hey, people learn , right? And you're my teacher so you can't leave me hanging.
