Wow New York is bigger than I thought it would be. Annie Price walked down the street after leaving the subway. She had moved to New York City last week and she was still trying to find an apartment. She was currently staying at a small hotel outside the city until she found an apartment. Every day she tried to find an apartment and they all were too expensive. She found a notice in the paper today for an apartment above an old man’s store that he wanted to rent out. She was heading there now hoping that no one had rented it out.

There were too many people out there on the streets of New York. She kept being pushed back and forth. She tried to get away from the crowd but felt herself being pushed forward until she tripped on a crack in the street. She felt herself falling and then she was caught by a passerby.

“Woah there. Are you alright?” Annie looked up and saw two blue eyes gleaming at her.

“I’m alright.” She tried to catch her breath. “Just shaken up.”

He smiled. “Good, I’m Aaron by the way.” He held out his hand to her.

She shook it and smiled. “I’m Annie.”

“Well then Annie let’s get out of this mess.” He led her to a small coffee shop. “Let me buy you some coffee.”

“Actually I need to get to my apartment. Well at least I hope that it’ll be my apartment.”

“Oh, you don’t have an apartment?”

She shook her head. “No I recently moved here. I’m trying to find a place to stay. And a job.”

“What do you want to do?”

“You would laugh.”

“No I won’t.”

“Well I want to sing on Broadway.”

“You do?”

“Yeah, I know it sounds like everyone else but it’s what I’ve always wanted to do.”

“Maybe I can help.”

“You can?”

“I have connections in the Broadway universe. I’m actually auditioning for a show right now.”

“You are?”

“Yes.”

“Thank you so much!” She hugs him. “I can’t repay you or anything.”

“It’s okay, just let me buy you coffee every day and you tell me about your life in New York.”

“Why?”

“Even Broadway stars need friends. And I think that you do too.”

“Thank Aaron.”

“I know that this Saturday there are auditions for a choir girl in Cinderella.”

“There are?!?!”

“Yes. Now what kind of coffee would you like?”
