"Chris, what are you doing today?" She asked.
"Um, well t-today, I have a meeting with this... this meeting with this uh, record producer." He stuttered.
"That's great, love! Now, tell me why you're stuttering. You only stutter when you're either very nervous or very sad." She said smartly.
"I'm um, just both maybe." He sighed.
"What's wrong? This is something you always wanted! Since you were 16, you're 19 now. What's wrong?" She smiled the smile that he always loved.
Her smile calms him, her beautiful smile could calm a village and put out the most enraged fire.
"I'm leavin' and you can't come. We have to end it here, I can't have you distracting me from my work. I'm leaving Virginia and goin' to New York." He said, trying to make his words hurt her. And they did.
"What?" She asked hurt. She was confused. She always believed she was the perfect girl for him. Well, at least she thought.
"I don't need you no more!" He yelled at her.
Tears fell from her brown eyes and on to her deep red cheeks. "What did I do? Please, I can change, I promise. Please, I'm so sorry!" She cried, holding onto him for dear life.
He felt tears cloud his eyes, but they never fell. He wouldn't let them. "Please, get the f-, please get off me."
"No, Chris. Please, I can change. Please!"
"Stop!" He yelled, making her jump.
"I love you, Chris please."
I love you too, Alana, I wish I didn't have to do this. He though.
"I don't love you. All I wanted was sex and since I got that, I'm leavin'." He said.
Her hands slowly fell from his body and she looked at him. "Chris, tell me you're lying."
"I just wanted sex! You sho did throw it back really nice too, maybe I should tell my homies to come through and see what that pu--"
Before he had the chance to finish his sentence, she slapped him. She couldn't believe the words he had said to her.
"Get out my house! Chris, I trusted you, you were my first! My fucking first!" She yelled, tears managed to cover her face.
"Bye, Alana." He waved at her, laughing miserably.
She picked up a vase of flowers he had given her a week ago and threw it at the wall, close to his head.
"I hate you so much, Christopher Maurice Brown! I will never ever forgive you! I can't believe you! I hate you!" She screamed.
He looked at her once more before walking out. As he got to the car, he broke down, crying hard.
"Fuck!" He screamed, punching the steering wheel.
He drove off, heading to the airport with his passport in hand. All his clothes were at Lana's house. The one they had shared for almost for almost 5 months now.
He was going to miss her. He fished the small velvet box out his pocket and opened it. A small ring he had in hopes on marrying the woman of his dreams. A small ring for all his big promises. She would have been happy, she would have said yes.
"Last flight to New York boarding now."
He sighed, giving the passport to the lady and headed to board the plane.
Virginia will always be his home. And Alana will always be his beautiful wife. Even without the ring.
While Chris scolds himself, Alana was at their home, drowning herself in misery. She wished he was here, wished he hadn't said what he said. He still loved her and she saw it in his eyes. That love was undeniable, it was so noticeable, everyone knew by the age of 20, they were going to get become engaged, then age 24, married with many kids.
But, that was a lie! A complete lie, by age 19, they would have been broken up. Age 24... Never again. Not a trace of Chris and Alana. Their relationship is dead now.
All she could hear was her crying and begging. What made him say those things to her?
Was she annoying to him?
Did she not cook the way he liked?
Was it because she was pregnant?
Can't be. She haven't told him yet. She planned on telling him in a week, once she got the written results. She didn't trust the standard pregnancy test. She wanted manual one, going to the doctors, drawing blood and urine. That's what she needed. Not some piece of plastic.
"What did I do?" She asked, tears cascading down her beautiful face. She wanted answers. Had she not been a perfect girlfriend?
While she accused herself, the door opened and on walked her best friend Amber.
"Booootch! Where you at?" She yelled. Her mood was so uplifting and loving.
Alana didn't say anything, she just sat in the living room, wiping her tears hurriedly.
Amber walked in the room and immediately saw her best friend wiping tears that came from her eyes.
She rushed over to Alana. "What's wrong?"
"Chris left--"
"Where'd he go? And why would he leave you in this matter?" She said angrily.
"Let me finish. He left me. We're over, he went to New York. There's no more Alana and Chris. It's just Alana and her unborn child."
"You're pregnant?" Amber asked, putting her hands over Alana's small baby bump.
Alana smiled sadly. "Yeah. The doctor told me I was a little over three months."
"Does Chris know? Is that why he left?" She asked.
Alana only shook her head. "He's going to New York to continue his singing career, but I wasn't going to stop him. I wasn't going to hold him back. Why did he do that? Why did he say those things. I shouldn't have done it. I gave it up too quick. He said he was only in it for the sex. The sex?! He told me he loved me! It was for the sex? The fucking sex!" She screamed, hitting the floor.
Amber stared at Alana as she literally broke down.
"I don't want this fucking baby if Chris isn't here. I'll abort it, I'll fucking kill it." She cried.
Alana could feel her chest tightening as she began to breath fast and short.
Alana has had a past of panic and anxiety attacks, but when she met Chris, they came to a halt.
"Babe, breathe. I need you to breathe. Okay, breathe." Amber said, trying to calm her friend.
After a while, Alana finally calmed down, Amber began to talk in a motherly tone.
"You crazy as fuck if you kill my niece or nephew. Fuck Chris, he can go to hell for all I care. That little bitch ain't a man. I'll help you raise this baby."
"It hurts." Alana whispered.
"I know."
