Annie's POV
I couldn't.
I ran. The man who was driving must have noticed me following him because he started to speed up, almost tipping his van over on the sharp corners, I was struggling to keep up. for some reason it stopped. I quickly hid round the corner behind some old fencing. He got out. He walked round to the back of the van. He opened the door. There was, meat. Meat? Had i been following the wrong van? No. There he was. Jake.
He was suspended in the air by one of those meat hooks they used for beef. He wasn't dead though, I could see his chest moving. Thank God for that.
Jake's POV
Just. Keep. Breathing.
Annie's POV
The man got back into the van and started to drive off again, a little slower this time, almost as if he wanted me to follow him. I had no choice, I wasn't going to let Jake die. Not tonight.
They turned a corner. I lost them.
Jake's POV
Just. Keep. Breathing.
Annie's POV
I wasn't going to give up though, I knew this town like the back of my hand, I knew every building, road and shop. I knew the shortcuts. I knew that the van could only stay on the roads, the one way roads. I ran across the park, through the woods, over the bridge and waited.
There they were. I waited for the exact right time and dropped from the bridge into a bush and joined the van on the road again. He turned into a small road, I had never seen it before. I kept on running after them though, being very careful as to where i put my feet incase there were trip wires or loose rabid dogs.
Jake's POV
Just. Keep. Breathing.
Annie's POV
There was a path leading towards a creepy looking mansion. I knew the van wouldn't be able to fit right up it so I waited patiently for the right moment to strike.
That moment never came.
