It was a regular afternoon, Hikaru sat by his brother his head leaned back, sinking into their bed lessening to music on his iPod. Kaoru was curled up by his reading a rather thick book, Hikaru was taping lightly on his leg to his music.
Hikaru paused when he was interrupted by something that sounding like a sniffle. The orange haired twin paused his music and looked over to Kaoru. Who was still curled up reading his book. He shrugged and pressed play on his iPod going back to his music. He heard another sniffle and paused his music with a frown and looked over to his brother again. This time the book was closed in Kaoru's hands and he was trembling slightly. Hikaru watched as a tear streaked down his twin face then leaped into action gathering his younger brother in his arms.
"Kaoru! What's wrong, are you hurt?" Hikaru clutched his younger brother worriedly ad he trembled into his arms,"Promise that you'll never leave me behind!" Kaoru chocked back a sob into his brother's chest. Hikaru clutched his brother even tighter, he been acting strange since he started reading those books,"I-I promise Kaoru," he glanced at the green and black book and tossed the offending thing off his bed, were it landed on the floor with a muffled thump open on a random page.
"Promise not to leave me.." Kaoru whimpered,Hikaru turned his attention back to his brother. "I promise Kaoru, I'm never going to leave you." Hikaru felt his brother relax at those words but he still cried quietly in his chest. After a while he felt Kaoru go slack and stopped trembling, he looked down to only realize that his brother fell asleep in his arms. Carefully not to wake him he sat him down on the bed and climbed off to turn off the light, Kaoru whimpered slightly and curled tighter to him self.
Hikaru turned off the light and hurried back to his brother and slid in beside him. it wasn't strange to sleep next to his brother, they were closer then average siblings. He shuffled Kaoru closer to him and hugged him tight, he though he herd a mumbled,"Thank you Hikaru," but it could of been his imagination as he slipped into sleep.
In the darkness a lone book laid open on page 637....
"No -- no --no!" someone was shouting. "No! Fred! No!"
And Percy was shaking his brother, and Ron was kneeling beside them, and Fred's eyes stared without seeing, the ghost of a laugh still etched upon his face.
