Earth softly brushed his paws against the hard dirt, making the fur on the tip of his toes go fluffy. He pushed down stronger once his Amber paws had finished the brushing. It was morning, and a dull light from the orange sun glared down on the world, except for where the shade patched around. Large smooth, oak trees surrounded the brown Tom in the centre of the forest. The sky was a hypnotising blue and splotches of unusual shaped clouds floated around. Earth dug his long claws deep into the dept and looked up at the crystal-clear sky. He whispered sacredly;
"Growyaq."
The world seemed to sway under his paws as Earths energy drained from his body. His pure green eyes stretched wide with power before the dirt shifted, making him push harder against the ground. Earth continued to repeat the word Growyaq until he halted his deep words, something summoning them away from his grasp. Earth, eyes going back to their normal size, glanced down at the soil again to see a small clump of green grass had sprouted out from a bold spot of fresh yarrow. He purred with pleasure-He had grown a plant. Earth kneeled down to take a close look at it, though he looked exhausted-his green eyes sparkled with common curiosity. The grass had tiny droplets of dew already crowding on its leaves and the stalk of it was short and clumsy against the calm wind. Earth gasped dramatically as he spotted one leaf on the left side of the plant was torn. He quickly scuttled forward and rasped his pink tongue over its soft young skin, attempting to heal its wound. Earth took a step back, his paws crunching on old leaves that were behind him, and focused his emerald gaze on the leaves cut. Earth stared at it, desperately murmuring; "Healio."
The world shook underneath his paws as the leaves tear was stitched back together carefully-the wound cracking away as if it was never there. Earth smiled weakly at the plant as he tiredly fell to the ground, making a low thump, in agony and shortness of energy. He gasped for air, but it refused to join his lungs so Earth took one last look at the plant to make sure it was safe before he was dragged into the world of endless dreams and power over creativity.Earth blinked open his eyes to see only plain darkness. No light or stars at all. He froze for a moment, to scared to move until his green gaze adjusted to the night and he found himself in a forest. But it was black, scary and just...uninviting. A tang of blood flied through the hard air and it made Earth want to spew. But instead, he sat motionless, as silent and still as a piece of dead-prey. Earths surroundings were no better than the scent;
Ragged, bumpy trees-lumpy, hard rocks and old, crunchy leaves. The air was warm and unwelcoming, a hint of grief flowing through his nose. The sky was starless and only darkness echoed through the forest and there was no movement nor noises. Not even a simple, "Hello." Earth blinked slowly, shuffling onto his paws. He sat there for a moment, not knowing how he should act. Earths eyes scanned through the unfamiliar territory and he found himself gazing at a splat of scarlet water. He sniffed the air for any nearby scents, but could only smell the disgusting tangy scent. Earth wrinkled his face in quick distaste before he slowly stepped towards the puddle, his paws booming like thunder even though he had settled them softly. Earth frowned as he neared the small water and halted once his paws reached the start of the puddle. Earth gulped and stared down at it, his face surprisingly reflecting up at him. His emerald eyes glowed in the darkness but his Amber pelt blended in with the bushes and trees. Earth leaned down toward the water, his neck fur bristling with sudden fascination. The Tom blinked at it with regret before he stuck his tongue out. Earth gently lapped at the surface of the red water before he leaped back in horror. He coughed as agony slipped into his throat and he clenched his claws tight into the ground, gasping for air. Earth collapsed to the ground as he took massive coughs and desperately scrambled around. He closed his now-dull eyes in pain as he breathed heavily. Earth received no air as he coughed, but he didn't give up. His lungs screamed for air and Earth suddenly let out an ear-splitting screech. His voice echoed through the black world and he pinned his ears back, hoping to stop this terrible nightmare. But the horror continued. Earth finally took his last gulp of air before he closed his emerald eyes, though they were all ready half-closed. Earth laid limp as he slowly shrank away from the dream, the voices still looming around his mind...Earths cough awoke him. It was now the afternoon and warm light crept further beyond the mountains. The mighty glow gleamed down on one side of the trees, making the dark bark slither into a hot brown. The grass was shining emerald against the afternoon light and Earths pelt was camouflaged because he laid in the dusty dirt. Earths green gaze traveled over the sticks and leaves until they halted upon the plant he'd grown before he had fallen into the horrid nightmare. Earth wriggled onto his paws; shaky on them at first but then more steadier once he started walking towards the grass, his pace slow and painful. Earth still had the disgusting, bloody taste in his throat and he rasped his tongue around his lips-attempting to help it. But the taste still stuck to his throat and he continued his small path towards the plant. Earth dug his claws deep into the dirt that formed around him and, very slowly, he sat down on a small patch of sparkly grass. The plant sat just in front of his Amber paws and he leaned down to sniff at it, his ears perking up. Earth smiled softly as he saw no damage was done on the small plant and he sighed in success. Earth blinked as the sky grew into a heavier and darker blue; like a deep mauve. He closed his eyes against the glaring, but growing smaller, sun. Earths pelt was still ruffled with confusion from his...nightmare. Earth stood motionless for a moment, trying to taste the unusual water. He froze as he recognised the terrible taste. His eyes flew wide with terror.
He had drank what many cats had spilled.
He had drank what every cat had in their body.
Earth had drank blood.A/N
