The Brains and the Brawn

Chapter 2

"Lila you have to eat,  it's the big game today" Oliver mumbles with a mouth full of food.

 "I'm just not hungry alright, Wood get off my frickin' case already" I growl and push away from the table angerly.

 "Great now you've done it Oliver" Katie Bell pipes up from the end of the table. I walk out to the courtyard and take a deep breath. For a week now Percy has been ignoring me and when he has to talk to me,  he treats me like I'm nothing. Tears prick my eyes as I walk down to the pitch,  I shouldn't let him get to me so easily, but I've known him for years and him vanishing hurts deeply. 

"Merlin I'm so stupid" grumble to myself as I enter the locker room and start getting ready.

"Come on Lila, you should have made that goal!" Oliver yells from across the pitch. I shake my head and quickly grab the quaffle from the Ravenclaw chaser.

"That's how you do it Lila" 

"Hey watch out, Bludger to your right" I shout back but he doesn't hear me. I cringe as I hear his broom break. soon Ravenclaw scores just enough that when Harry caught the golden snitch and ended the game, we lost.

"Damn it Lila we've lost because of you" Oliver shouts as we enter the common room. 

" Oh sure blame it on the chaser who missed one goal at the start of the game and not the bloody keeper who could barely stay on his broom" I shout back, my hair turning cherry red. 

"Do you really want to start this, Black?" 

"Why not defend what I know to be the truth,  Wood." I growl glaring at him

"Maybe if you weren't so distracted, Lila,  we would have won" Oliver raises his voice,  drawing in a crowd. 

"It not my fault Wood, and if you pulled you head out of your arse every once in a while you know why" this goes on for awhile until Percy walks in.

 "Both of you should know that you are causing a lot of noise, and Lila you should know better with being Prefect I turn around quickly glaring at him.  

"Shove the hell off Percy you have no right to talk to me,  I'm going to bed" I shake my head and walk up to my dorm room. 

 "Lila it's the middle of the day" Percy states matter of factly.  

"I'm going to bed"

Percy's pov
"I'm going to bed" Lila sighs flabbergasted and runs up the stairs. I look at Oliver confused, 

"great job Percy, you've pissed her off more. I didn't even know that was possible."  Percy looks at Oliver, confusion written on his face, 

"What did I do? All I did was tell her that it was the middle of the day." Oliver shakes his head walking up the stair case to the boy's dormitory,  

"Dude you ignore her for a week, which has clearly upset her to begin with, then when you finally go out of your way to talk to her you tell her off because she was 'causing a lot of noise' as you put it. I would be surprised if she even forgave you, cause if I was in her position I wouldn't" Oliver goes into his dorm as Percy sits on the nearby couch. 

how could I be so stupid, why cant I just grow a pair and tell her how I feel"
