I wish I could write this letter to you with a light heart and a clear conscience, but unfortunately too much has happened over the last week. I don't even know how to put it into words. The rest of the counselors are pretending like nothing happened, but I can't keep quiet about this.
Mom, if you get this letter, I need you to keep it hidden. Read it once, then put it away. Don't think about it, and - for the life of you - don't tell anyone! Wait until I get back home. I'll figure out what to do. I want to have evidence before we go to the police, or else they'll think we're crazy. I'm trying to compile what I can.
I promise, Mom, I'm not crazy! Everything I'm about to tell you is true, and this isn't a joke.
If this is the last you hear from me, I want you to know that I love you. Tell Dad and James I love them too.
This is the last time I ever work at a summer camp.
