Alex's POV

My arm burned and my back ached. Overall, it felt like i was about to explode. I opened my eyes a crack but instantly closed them when i was blinded by a bright white light, letting out a quiet whimper as i did so.

I heard shuffling and panicked voices as i finally opened my eyes all the way. All i could see was white and the smell of anesthetic was overpowering, so much my eyes started to water. I was in a hospital. I wasn't necessarily trying to kill myself, think of it more like a happy accident.

After my eyes stopped scanning the surroundings around me, i came face to face with three very angry, confused and concerned people.

Oh my God. What am i going to say to them. I've ruined everything. I'm alive. I'm not dead like i was supposed to be.

"What?!" My head whipped round and i saw the boys stood there with their mouths hanging open. "You mean you almost died and you're not grateful that someone saved you!" Rian shouted angrily.

How about we keep this short and simple

"No"

I turned onto my side, facing away from them and just lay there, thinking of what to do next and how i could get out of this situation. I've already said enough. There's no point saying anything else, it would just get me into a bigger hole than i was already in.

I tuned myself out but i could still hear them firing question after question at me. Eventually they came round to the other side of the thin mattress, so they could see my face properly. The noise was incessant and it was doing my head in. It was like someone had purposely placed a broken television in my head, the static driving me crazy.

Soon i couldn't take it anymore and i wished and prayed for it to go away and it worked, as finally i drifted off to sleep once again.

Jack's POV

"Alex what were you thinking?"

"What were you trying to do?"

"Why wont you answer us?"

"Did something happen, was it us?"

We were constantly hounding him with question but with no success. We all sat there and watched as he started at us with dull, emotionless eyes. He was staring right at us, but it was like he was looking straight past us.

Eventually we realised  that we weren't going to get an answer. I thought that that would be the end of our problems for one day but really they were only just starting. Just as our questions stopped, i noticed something funny. His body had started to twitch and shake a little. You had to be concentrating on it a lot otherwise it could have been easily missed.

Suddenly, his eyes rolled into the back of his head. I was officially in panic mode. I immediately jumped from my chair and ran to the door, swinging it open harshly, almost breaking off the hinges.

"Doctor! Doctor! Help!" I screamed as i became more and more worried by the second. I sprinted back into the room to see Zach and Rian shaking him frantically and calling his name in the hopes of waking him up.

Soon a doctor arrived quickly brushing past me and the boys and shining a small torch into Alex's eyes examining him.

He breathed a sigh of relief before turning to face us.

" Okay so as Alex has lost a lot of blood, his body needs time to rest and create new blood cells. He's slipped into a temporary deep sleep, or comatose, in order for his body to start this healing process. Don't worry though as he should be awake in the next 4-6 hours depending on how much blood he lost"

I was so relieved as i thought i was going to have to say goodbye to my best friend for the second time in one day which is too much for anyone.

The doctor picked up his clip board and pen and started making notes on Alex's condition before addressing us again.

"Well it seems like you'll be able to take Alex home when he wakes up. I'm not going to refer him to a therapist or anything as this is his first visit of this nature but if anything gets any worse please be sure to contact us straight away as it could be crucial to his health."

"Thank you" I smiled at the doctor, before shaking his hand.

" Oh and one more thing, we've diagnosed Alex with a few conditions which he will need prescription drugs to help him with. After looking at the symptoms and the situation we've diagnosed him with Depression which i have the pills here for and anorexia. We're currently feeding him nutrients through an IV drip but he needs a regular 3 meals and to be supervised at all times when eating"

I nodded and thanked the doctor once again before he exited. I turned around and sighed, giving the guys a weak smile. I pulled them all into a group hug which i really needed.

"Don't worry guys," I told them "We can help him through this. Everything's going to be just fine"
