Music (sounds) and songs (lyrics) can affect your brain in many ways. While tuning in on some music, you may get chills which activates dopamine when the song is at its peak. The brain releases musical dopamine the same way when eating. With FMRI or Functional Magnetic Resonance Imagining, music activates neural networks in the brain making people feel emotional or creative. Playing music physically alters your brain's ability to learn faster and easier. Music is also a great work-out booster since it diverts your attention away from physical stress. Anyone can choose music over lyrics but it depends on who. The genre and the energy the music provides plays a big role too. Some songs like hip hop, electronic, heavy metal or jazz will be preferred over each other (depending on the person). Remember your favorite song? Do you know it by heart? Well, it seems you might have a deep emotional attachment to it one way or another. While music can be emotional at times, lyrics of a song share messages that can touch our hearts. Music of all kinds, is truly one of the best things humans could have discovered.By: Written Kitty - 14 Dec 2016
