"Y/N!" The sound of her voice brought good memories back in high school, first day we meet, first sleepover, first heartbreaks, even graduation. I smiled at her positive spirit and surprised that she even remembered me after she went over the country for college.
"Lacey, Oh my god!" She ran over to me and embraced my neck in warmth, despite I was covered in snow. I hugged her sides tightly to me and even picked up with the strength I had and twirled Lacey to get a giggle out of her. "Oh my god Y/N, it's been so long." She muffled in the crook of my neck. I nuzzled her closer, "It's been too long" Lacey giggled more at my response and let go. She has changed a lot since I last saw her, and that was two years.
"Ugh, I can not, and repeat, can not believe you actually came! How have you've been? How's college back at home? How's home? Your parents? Your-" Her rambling was enough to get the best listener confused, Good she got Brandon. "Whoa calm your tits there bridezilla, slow down your tongue. But yes everything is good, it's all good now." "Oops sorry" Pulling me back into another hug "It's been so long since I've seen my best gal pal in like. forever." Lacey lead me over to the handsome groom himself, the guy she felt destined to be with for the rest of her life, the One, the Only, Brandon Cooper.
Later on that evening, after meeting the groom-to-be was the rehearsal dinner. He seemed nice, treated Lacey very nicely like any respected woman of the 21st century should be treated. He was definitely her type; tall, dark-haired, kind eyes, and made her smile. Even if she's young getting married (over 18, chill) I'm glad she found someone that can make her happy.
The ceremony part of the rehearsal went smoothly and now we turn to the fun part of the night. The hall that held everything was so beautiful, down-to-earth, subtle, and a ton-ass of candles on the tables. But honestly out of laughs and giggles I thought the place would be decked out with pink streamers, sparkles (Lacey LOVES GLITTER), and popping colors but I'm surprised how she's matured a bit. For me though, I stayed the same since high school. The girl who kept to herself, got into trouble sometimes if I ditched classes to smoke(I'm cutting back now), and was too stuck in her headphones to even care about the world around.
I picked the right dresses for this occasion without standing out. They say no one can be more beautiful than the bride, so I picked up this little beauty last minute with some other dresses for the actual wedding.
Everything was going swimmingly with myself as I talked with Lacey and her bridesmaids
Everything was going swimmingly with myself as I talked with Lacey and her bridesmaids. "So how's the college life for you? Any cute guys you've been banging?" "Ugh, Karen is that all you think of?" Lacey playfully rolled her eyes to own annoyed response. Me with a drink in my hand I tried to hide the obvious blush rising taking a sip. Before I could respond to the bridesmaid, my eyes scanned across the room to find something(in this case someone) I'd never thought I'd see in a million years again.
Lacey already picks up my distress from a mile away, "What's wrong?" as she put a concerning hand on my exposed arm. "I uh..." Don't sound pissed off "What is he doing here?" "Who?" "Look ahead on my right." She looked across the room to the culprit to my demise. I can't believe he's here and I bet he's already staring into my skull because it's burning like an irritating little bitch.
"Oh, Y/N I'm sorry I forgot Tanner is Brandon's best man. I'm so stupid sometimes I forgot you guys-" "It's fine Lacey." My tone to her was definitely false compared what I felt on the inside. Not to her, but to the fact that I have to face him sometime during this stupid wedding, in the middle of this stupid, cold resort in the middle of-...
"On no he's coming this way." Lacey responded. "What?!?!" I almost choked on wine when said that. I glanced in the corner of my eye to see her response come true.
"Hello there ladies." The fuckin' ego-tistically douche responded. The other girls were obviously swooning over his 'gentleman' charms, which got me here in the first place. "Y/N is that you? How you've been?" Sounding like he cares oh-so about me. So I got back by putting on a fake grin.
"Oh-no not much, just getting my life back together, in college, working my ass off to hide the fact that you're here. How about you?" "Well nothing same old, some old. Wow, you look great tonight. Especially that ass you told me about." Tanner smirked at me.
Oh no. He did not just put that on the table! I need a blunt now otherwise I'm going to break this wine glass. I need to keep calm and not a scene this Lacey's wedding not my wrestling match against Tanner. I sighed out and ignored his response. "So, Tanner how's the new girlfriend I've been hearing about?" "She's doing great, man I love that girl. Pretty too." That was the last straw.
"Oh If she's so great, how come you've kept your relationship from me after 2 years?" The girls and Lacey next were starting to get anxious from all the tension I was burning off into the air. It's about to go down. The Tanner(or A-hole more correctly here) responded back with the smirk still on his dumb, cute face. Why did I say cute?!? His face disgusts me now. "Well if you weren't so dumb to see the signs, then it would of made things easier." "Easier? EASIER?!?! You've got some nerve to embarrass me right now and show up in my face yet again after 4 months and you say I'm dumb for not knowing?" My she-wolf is now coming. That was something that attract him to meeting me. I was doing a lot of Slam Poetry in Freshman Year and he came one night's performance which lead us to dating, to sex, to going steady, to heart-breaking reveal betrayal.
" Y/N, I you should-" "No, Lacey this ends here once and for all. You are nothing but a worthless piece of shit who thinks he can get away with sleeping with many whores behind his devoted girlfriend's back so he can get more booty once he's done with them. No will never have that privilege again from me, because you see me now and that look." Tanner's face changed to a confused puppy with a bitch face responding, "What face?" "Oh don't think I'm playing dumb now because you've got another thing coming. That face you have when want to Fuck to the break of Dawn face when you stared at me and probably still doing it with the many women who came." "Y/N, please-" "No, please don't respond because I want to see the look in your eyes when you come to realize you could of Had it all."
People were now started in hear the spitfire scene I was making to the Best man and even mumbled in the crowds around me. Man I must be on fire with my passion echoing the walls. Thank God the groom-to-be stepped in before I could explode.
