"Turn right up here." Devin said pointing.

I was still huddled close to Seth listening to his heart beat.

"Man it looks like a tornado went through this place." Kevin said.

I looked up out the window and saw a bunch of debris littering the ground.

The dumpsters were flipped causing trash to flow from sidewalks into the street. There was no sign of living. Until I saw it. Movement out of the corner of my eye. I wipped my head that way. It was under some trash bags. It looked like it was looking for food.

"Stop the car." I said staring out the window at the moving trash.

"What?" Kevin said glancing back.

"Just do it." I responded rolling my eyes.

He pulled the car over and unlocked the doors. I got out leaving the door open.

If it was a zombie I was a goner. But curiosity killed the cat right.

"What are you doing?" Seth yelled from behind me.

"Shhhh!" I turned around putting my finger to my lips.

He held his hands up in surrender. I turned back around moving tord the once moving trash.

As I got closer the smell was so discussing I had to put my arm over my mouth and nose. The paper plates and napkins started moving again

I lifted up one paper plate and saw a tail? I dug through a bit more and I saw a fluffy body. It was a puppy. I picked it up and held it close to me.

"Whats that?" Seth asked.

"It's a puppy." I said smiling and petting her.

"Really?" He said looking at the small black lab in my arms.

"Yeah we are taking her with us and we are going to protect her." I stated simply.

He smiled and pet her small head as we got back in the car.

"We have a new addition." I said placing the small puppy on Kevin's lap.

He looked down at her and smiled holding her close.

"What should we name her guys?" I asked looking at her as she licked my brothers face.

"What about Hope? So when ever we look at her we think hope." Devin suggested petting her head.

"I like that Devin." Seth said smiling at her.

"Yeah I like it too." I said.

"Hope it is." Kevin said smiling at the little black fur ball.

When we got to the beach house it was almost intact. The side of it looked like it was about to cave in.

We walked into the house and were greated with a terrible smell.

"Mom! Dad!" Devin yelled looking around the house.

We all looked around the house but there was no sign of anyone being there.

"They said they where here." Devin said to us. "They can't just not be here." She said tears sliping out of her eyes.

Kevin walked over to her and embraced her in a huge hug.

"Well we will wait here for a bit." I said sitting on the couch.

Devin smiled and we all sat on the couch and played with our puppy. Hours passed. They still wernt back.

"Hey, um... I think we should probably find a more stable house... no afence but this one feels it's about to cave in.." Seth said while letting Hope nibble on his finger.
