It has been two hundred years since the last time I saw the outside world, or the last time that I could see with my own eyes. I have been living in darkness, it has even become a friend. It is not like it speaks to me or anything alike, but it has accompanied me through my long suffering.

I am ignorant of what is currently happening outside of this darkness, but I have no intentions of knowing. After all this time, this place I am at has become home, it is now part of me. It is my sad ending, but I had a lot of time to embrace it.

This war between our kind and humans started way before I was captured, but we never really knew the reason of why it began. All we knew was that even though we were powerful we were losing the fight to the extent of hiding ourselves. This is what my family had decided after I was born, they wanted me to have a normal life away from the world that they knew. It was ten years after that we were captured because someone had told the King about our existence. My father and I survived, but my mother was brutally killed after she had tried to protect me. After her death I surrendered to the soldiers and they captured me, and it was not that I did not try to fight, I indeed tried to utilize my powers to run away but for some reason I felt lifeless after seeing the face of the person that had caused all of that.

After I was captured and taken to the cells I understood a little more of why we Gods were being captured and why we powerful beings were losing the war. In the world of Saluna, there are many materials and minerals that grow in different places, some are very expensive and are used for jewelry and other luxurious items; others are used for magic that is not permitted to be touched by humans and only Gods. There is one powerful gem that had been banned, it's name is Solem and it is so powerful that it drains the energy of every living thing that it touches. This gem had been used to drain the energy of us Gods, making us vulnerable and unable to use our powers.

This was all the information I was given two hundred years ago by my father who sat with me while we were being transported. We last saw each other that day with the promise of seeing each other soon, but that soon became two centuries. That was also the last time I saw the outside, the last time I felt the breeze of the morning and saw the beautiful colors of the landscape that surrounded me.

Everything turned black, and that is when my world became nothing. I cannot walk, I cannot move, breath, feel, see. They had made it impossible for us to escape, death is not even an option.

Then...

I heard something, I could not recognize what it was but it was getting closer and closer as time went by. My heart started raising with the sound of life approaching me. Then I heard strange sounds, voices that became louder and louder.

"Riah?" They called my name, I looked around hoping to see the person whose voice sounded like hope; a deep voice that belonged to a male figure. I felt a presence in front of me, I could smell this person. Sweat combined with fear and hope, it smelled so alive. "Riah we have come for you, you are safe with us" the voice said as he grabbed my weak arms and lifted me up. I let out a moan of pain as my thin body was being moved, two centuries of not moving had destroyed my body and senses completely.

"Is this Riah?" Another voice was heard, this time the voice came from a female. Her voice was sweet and low pitched, very mature and filled with bravery. "This is definitely her, just as described" She said once again, "We have to go."

My body was placed in a soft surface that later started moving, I was going somewhere away from the darkness that I had accepted a long time ago. I did not know where I was going, but I took a second to wave at my now old home.

Good bye, darkness, my good friend.

The cloth that had taken my vision was removed, although I could still see nothing. Everything was blurry, but I was thankful it was not dark. The people that had been taking care of me had told me that my vision would be restored in about a day, since we are Gods we heal a lot faster than humans. In the cell I was surrounded by Solem so my body was deteriorating more and more as time went by. I was also told that the rest of my body was very damaged as well, but that with time I would be healthy once again. These people I was with now had a lot of knowledge about my kind, which was a strange thing as only Gods could know about how our body works.

"How are you feeling today Riah?" Moona said in a sweet tone, she was the lady that had been there the day I was rescued from the cells. She had told me that her people had been looking for me for a very long time, she even mentioned that her grandfather was the one that started the mission of rescuing other Gods, including myself.

"I am feeling a bit better, hopefully I can see soon." I said, my voice cracking a bit.

"Well you have only been here for a week and you can already walk and move, I know I said it would take a day to restore your vision but it may take a couple of hours." She said letting a giggle out. "Once you restore yourself completely we will go somewhere, your questions will be answered there." She said changing her tone completely to more serious. "I am sorry we have not being able to explain much, but on your condition we want to wait until you are ready."

"I understand" I said, I tried to focus my eyes so that I could see her a bit better. I could only see blurred images as of now which made me feel a bit impotent, I wanted to be able to look at her face and thank her for what she had done. Giving me my senses back was the best gift someone could ever give me. Being able to feel warmth, coldness, being able to breath and smell different aromas.

I felt alive again.

"For now I think I can show you something, as your vision may be restoring soon, I want it to be the first thing you see after so many years." Moona said, walking outside of the room we were in. The door closed and a new figure appeared in front of me, a familiar presence filled my surroundings. A tall masculine person was now in front of me, and as my vision restored slowly I could identify his features as they got clearer and clearer. His tanned skin and big arms, his warm smile and hazel eyes, and his strong facial features that could tell a million stories. He was there, in front of me, as clear as crystal. He stared at me as tears began falling down my eyes, he opened his arms and gave me a beautiful smile. I knew exactly who it was.

"Father."
