A/N: This was "what if" idea from WataMote's episode 9/Chapter 18 when Tomoko wishes at the stars to gaze at them with a guy. And I was also listening to Panic! At The Disco's Northern Downpour, that's where I got the title for this fan fiction. Enjoy!

Tomoko was looking at the stars at the night sky, the news report said that there would be a meteor shower that night, so she went outside and sat at the bench.

"Why does the end of summer... make me feel so sad?" Tomoko said to herself, "Is it because I'm nervous about the new school term? Or is it because I'm sat here alone eating ramen?"

Tomoko looked down and her tears started to fall. "I read somewhere that the hard and painful things in life are the spice that makes it truly enjoyable but... if it's only painful things, it gets too spicy!"

She looked up at the sky and smiled bitterly, she tried to stop her crying. "I can't think like that... otherwise I'll want to kill myself while looking down in a dark place. I need to keep looking up... I came here to see the stars..."

Suddenly, Tomoko saw a shooting star. "Ah...?! I saw a shooting star... The meteor showers here" she smiled to herself and thought 'that's right... it finally came so I should try making a wish... umm...' She looked down once again to think.

'A meteor will strike the school... a serial killer will come into the classroom... a normal person definitely would...'

Tomoko disregarded those ridiculous wishes and looked up, "I don't want to wish for that anyway... I need a more proper wish... Umm, with someone... No. I want to watch the stars with a guy..."

She just sighed, "Well of course there's no way it would be granted..."

The sound of the cicadas filled the atmosphere and Tomoko just listened to them. It reminded her from when she and Tomoki, her little brother, were just children. Tomoko remembered the box they both kept together called "Pieces of Summer". It was filled cicada shells they once used to catch and sell.

Tomoko had somehow wished those times when they were children would come back, but it won't happen though, they had both separated to their own ways.

Tomoko suddenly heard bushes shuffling, making some noise. She got nervous, 'what's that, a pervert?'

She looked at her back and didn't expect that a person would come, and it was someone she really didn't expect.

It was Tomoki, her little brother.

"W-what are you doing here?" Tomoko asked, looking away and somehow upset. 'Out of all people, and this is the guy?' she angrily thought.

"I'm watching the stars." Tomoko replied coldly and sat beside her, Tomoko distanced herself away from him.

"What about your friends? I thought mom said you're with them." Tomoko said.

Tomoki just stared at her, he admitted himself that he wanted to have some time with his sister, even for just one day. And he left his friends to go and find her, he did.

"I... realized that I wanted to watch them alone..." Tomoki said and glanced at Tomoko, he noticed her cheeks damp with her tears.

"Y-you could've just gone to a different place, not here." Tomoko replied. She got surprised when she realizes that she's crying.

Tomoki was about to respond but he saw her crying, he reached for his bag to find a towel and he leaned closer to her face to wiped her tears away.
