~Brielle's P.O.V~

As soon as I closed the door, Louis was outside of it begging me to let him in. "Bri, please just let me in." Ignoring him, I walked over to my bed and pulled out the old box from my birth mom's childhood.

Opening it, I pulled out the necklace she gave me before she died. It's a golden heart pendent on a gold chain. Inside the heart is a picture of my mum and my biological father, whom I've never met.

After looking at the picture for a couple of minutes, I pulled out the letter she wrote before she passed away.

*Flashback*

"Beep. Beep. Beeeeep." I can't believe it. My mom just left me. Cancer killed my mother. Why? Why did she have to leave me? Her 10 year old daughter. No dad, grandparents, no one.

Before I knew it, I started screaming at my mother's dead body. "WHY DID YOU HAVE TO LEAVE ME?" I couldn't control myself anymore. I had so many tears streaming down my face, it felt like I was drowning in a puddle of my own tears.

Suddenly, I felt arms wrap around my waist and pull me out of the room. It was my older brother, my best friend, Luke. He got me to sit down on his lap and helped me calm down.

After I calmed down, the doctor came out, holding an envelope with my name on it. Looking at it confused, I noticed it was my mothers letter for me and my brother.

Dear Bri,

You don't know how much it hurts me to say that I'm leaving you. I'm sorry but the cancer is just too much. I know I told you I would stay strong, and defeat the cancer but, I couldn't. The cancer became way too much and the evil monster took me. Cancer defeated me. I know you may be too young to understand this but I need you to know how much I love you and your brother. When your father left me, I was devistated. But I met this amazing young woman, Johannah. That's who's going to take care of you while Luke's away. Again, baby I'm so sorry. I didn't want things to end like this. I tried so hard to fight against it, for you and your brothers sake. But I was just too weak. Oh god. By the time I'm done writing this, the paper will be soaked. I love you so much babygirl. And I'm so sorry for leaving you. You will love the new family your going to be with. And remember, crying is for the weak unless your crying for the strong. Love you forever.

Yours Truly, xx

*End of Flashback*

Two years after my mothers death, on the same day, my brother died at the age of 24. He died because of a drunk driver. The worst part? My brother was on his way home from being in Afghanistan for 2 years.

Anyways, after the note, I brought out my brothers pin from the military. I also got a plaque saying, "In memory of Luke William Lensky."

After I looked through everything in the box, I put the box back under my bed. Then, I got up and went to the bathroom to freshen up a little bit before talking to Louis.

Once I looked in the mirror, I was horrified. My hair was in different directions, while my eyes were puffy and red from crying so much. I ended up washing my face and putting my hair in a side braid. After I looked, kind of decent, I walked out of the bathroom and jumped on my bed.

As soon as I jumped on my bed, there was a soft knock on my door. Before opening the door, I looked in the mirror once more. Then, in front of me was an upset looking Louis.

"Bri. I'm so sorry. I didn't realize you cared so much about me. I tried to call you but every time I did mum said you were either asleep or weren't home." How come Johannah never told me?

"Lou, mum never told me you called. I'm sorry too. I should've never yelled at you."

After apologizing too each other, we hugged and laughed.

"I love you Bri."

"I love you too Lou."

"Hey. Since we're okay here, would you like to meet the guys?" Uh oh. I'm not very good with meeting new people.

"Uhm. Yeah, I guess." I said with a fake smile.
