1: The Pin

"Please... L-Let him go..."

Feeling beads of sweats on her forehead, Woohee woke up to her brother telling her to wake up. "Finally, up?" Her brother sat on her bed smiling down at her. Woohee sat up rather lazily, wondering what her brother was doing in her room so early in the morning. Woohyun watched his sister cutely rub her eyes and noticed how she had been sweating.

Reaching for the tissue on the bedside table, he worriedly asked if she was feeling okay. "I'm fine." Woohee chuckled seeing how worried her brother got over a simple thing. Wiping off the sweat, he placed his palm on her forehead and felt it for some seconds. "I don't think you have a fever." Woohee chuckled again. "I said I'm fine. I just... had a weird dream." Woohee recalled it and shuddered.

Woohyun stared at her worriedly for a moment before Woohee asked him what he was doing in her room. "Do you need something from me?" Woohyun's expression suddenly changed. He excitedly reached down for the little, wrapped box on the floor.

"It's your birthday, so I bought you a small gift." Woohee took it from him and thanked him for it. "Open it." He excitedly anticipated her reaction as she started to open it. "Do you like it?" Woohee gasped when she saw what she had received. It was a brand new phone which had recently been launched. "Oppa, you didn't have to. The one I'm using at the moment works just fine." Woohyun just sighed.

"I knew you'd be like this." He scooted a little closer to her. "Can you even see anything on your phone through the cracked screen?" Woohee felt both bad, and grateful. "Now, get off the bed, freshen up and come down for breakfast, alright?" Woohee couldn't be more grateful to have such a reliable, supportive, and an understanding brother.

Freshening up, she quickly got dressed for school and walked downstairs. They both had breakfast together and left the house for school and work. "Do you want to go somewhere today?" Woohyun looked at Woohee while driving. "Since it's your birthday, I wanted to take you somewhere you wanted to go." Woohee sarcastically laughed hearing him. "You won't even come with me, so why bother asking?" Woohyun let out a nervous laugh. "You know, I have loads of work to do." Woohee rolled her eyes, nodding her head. "I know, I know." She didn't speak after that.

"So, anywhere you want to go?" Woohee sighed, shaking her head in the process. "I don't want to go alone." Woohyun felt bad but, he couldn't leave his work, especially now, that he had important clients' works. "You can go with Jungkook and your other friends." He tried to make it up for being unable to be there on his sister's birthday. "You don't have to feel bad, oppa. I don't have anywhere I want to go. Just come home sooner, with co-pi." Woohyun nodded his head telling her he'd try.

Reaching school, Woohee was greeted by her two only friends who wished her a happy birthday. They walked into their respective classrooms which started soon after. It was the lunch break after a few classes. Meeting up with her two friends, Jaein and Haesoo, they went to the cafeteria for lunch. "Yah, have you seen the new boy? I saw him this morning and good looking is not enough to describe his beauty. His visuals are out of this world. I thought he was a model." Jaein said after she quickly swallowed her food.

--"I thought he was a model. He is tall and really has the face of an actor. Apparently, the reason he comes here every day is because of a girl who attends our school."--

While Jaein was going on about how handsome and perfect the person was, Woohee couldn't help but feel like she had experienced this before. Dismissing it just as a feeling of déjà vu, she continued having her food. "He's already being compared Seokjin and Jungkook." Hearing the name made a smile appear on her lips.

Not even finishing her food, she got up from her seat. Telling them she would meet Jungkook, she left to look for the boy. He was a neighbor but was more like her own brother to her. They were quite close as they grew up playing together. He was almost two years younger than her so she adored him more than anyone.

Although knowing he wouldn't be in his classroom, she took a quick peek to make sure and made her way to the rooftop where he usually hung out with his friends. She bumped into someone while walking but before she could even react to the sudden bump, the person left, dropping something on the floor. She picked it up and was about to call him but he had gone too far. She looked at it and it was a name pin which had the name 'Kim Taehyung' printed on it. Not knowing what to do with it, she just put it inside her blazer's pocket and continued walking.

She couldn't help the smile that crept up her lips as she saw Jungkook with his friends. Jungkook spotted Woohee and came up to her with a bright smile on his face. "Noona..." Woohee waited for Jungkook to wish her a happy birthday with a smile of anticipation on her face until Jungkook asked her what she was doing there. Without even realizing, she had scoffed out of disappointment.

"You don't remember...?" Jungkook laughed out loud seeing how disappointed she looked. "Of course, I do. Happiest birthday, our cute little Woohee noona." He teasingly patted on her head. "Yah, I am two years older than you. How can you treat someone older than you like that?" Jungkook just chuckled at her. He, then, took out something from his pocket and handed it to Woohee who gasped when she saw they were tickets to some movie she had been wanting to watch.

"Use it wisely." Jungkook was proud of himself seeing Woohee happy. Woohee looked up from the ticket and was about to thank him when she noticed something on Jungkook's face. "What's-" She was at loss for words when she realized it was a bruise. She gasped after seeing a treated wound on his forehead when she brushed his bangs behind to see the bruise properly. "What happened to you?" She was worried and scared for him. Jungkook covered it up again with his bangs and lightly chuckled, trying to loosen up the growing tension between them. "I fell from a couple of stairs yesterday." For some reason, Woohee wasn't convinced. "Don't worry, I went to the hospital with father."

The ringing of the bell was heard but Woohee didn't stop looking worriedly at Jungkook. "Noona, we can talk about this later, let's go back to our classes for now, okay?" He spun her around and slowly started pushing her from behind.
