Chapter 2

I could hardly sleep, all I could think about was Alice. I want to wear something casual and nice to impress her. In High School, She was popular, well at least to me because she was always hanging around many different people whenever I saw her. So many different thoughts going through my mind at one time.

My alarm clock goes off at about six. I head to my closet and pull out my normal set of clothes, just to take the girls to school in. I drop them off at 7:30, so I would still have two hours and thirty minutes to get ready. I head to the girls room to get them ready for school. "Wake up sleepy heads" I say as I slowly turn on the lights. "Can't we have five more minutes" Edith, Margo, and Agnes all shout. "Don't worry only two more days till the weekend, then you can sleep in whenever you want" I first go over to Agnes to help her get dressed "I think I can do it myself this time" She struggled a bit to get on her shirt and overalls. I clapped that she did it all by herself and I see an adorable little smile come up on her face. I make everyone some breakfast, then we head out. I drop off Agnes and Edith off at the elementary school, then bring Margo to middle school. "Bye Gru" she shouts as she leaves the car quickly to go off with her friends. "Bye Margo, have a wonderful day" I shout back. I didn't think she hear me. It's amazing how fast they grow up, it was just like yesterday was her elementary school graduation. I head home and see that I have two hours before I have to leave. I search through my closet before I find something perfect. The shirt was just a plain gray t-shirt, but It looked perfect with the jeans and my regular jacket. I decide to just skip putting on the scarf and go watch some tv for the next ten minutes. It's about 9;40, time to get leaving. I yell to the minions to watch the house while I'm gone.

It's 9:55, she should be here any minute. Alice walks in, looking as beautiful as ever. Her Auburn hair is up in a very professional way. She wears a black skirt and a white blouse. Alice begins to walk toward me. "Gru, wow you look fantastic." She hugs me perfectly. "Thanks and you look pretty good yourself" She give me a flirtatious giggle. I think that's a good sign. "I'll go get us some coffee and then we can catch up" She walks away to go order and I find a place to go sit down. How can one person look more beautiful than they did the other day? I sit there pondering until she finally comes back. She hands me my coffee, then smiles. "Gru, how have you been? On graduation day, I remember you saying something about being an astronaut" It's amazing how she still remembers that. "Well that never happened, but I manage to steal the moon" She looks at me with great wonder then says "That was epic, I saw it all over the news. I had no idea that you did it!!!" I never expected for her to be this amazed. Many people usually scowl at me and begin this huge lecture about how life would be without day and night, yada yada yada. "So, I see that your wearing business clothes. Where do you work?" I ask. I've been wondering this for awhile now. "I'm the Vice President for a company called Lanson. The job has it's up and downs, but it's really nice" I see the Lanson building whenever I go into the city. "So what else have you been doing" Alice looks at me and smiles then takes a sip of her coffee. "Well, I have kids now. Their not my real kids I adopted them a few years ago" I take a sip of my coffee not wanting to seem so nervous. She looks into my eyes and I swear I want to stare at her all day long. "That's fantastic!!! I just recently got married and my husband so far has no plans for a family" Of course, Alice is married. Why wouldn't she be. She beautiful, strong, kind, and a bunch of things mixed up in that. I fake a little smile. "Maybe you can come over for dinner one day, if you'd like and meet everyone." She seems excited as she says those words. I would love to see the guy who stole her heart and act all happy about it. Alice looks down her phone "I have to get straight to work or my boss will get upset. It was so nice to see you again, just call me if you want to come over for dinner" She smiles then walks out. I don't know if I want to face her husband but then I also want to see her again. The girls would love her to death.
