She glanced at her watch for about the nth time. 4:30 pm. Can't the time move any faster she thought exasperated, she looked at her watch again, still 4:30! Even the second hand was super slow!

"You don't have to be here Taaz," Ayesha said.

Mumtaaz looked up at her, "what, why will you say that?"

"Because you're not paying attention, you've been staring at your watch endlessly."

"Oh," Mumtaaz let out a nervous chuckle, "the time has frozen it seems."

"Or that you've been looking at it so hard to notice a change."

"Don't blame me, blame my nerves, I can't seem to calm down today."

Ayesha smiled amusedly, "you're bound to feel that way, afterall its your first date with Yasir."

Mumtaaz blushed, "yes and I don't even know what to wear!"

"You'll figure it out, now off you go. Go and start getting ready," Ayesha winked at her.

Mumtaaz laughed then stood up to hug Ayesha, "okay, bye."

"Bye."

With another wave, Mumtaaz walked out of the classroom. She'd gone to the day care to help Ayesha out with some drawings for the art fair that was to take place the following monday.

As she drove home, all she could think about was Yasir and how their 'outing' was going to go.

What to wear, how to act, what to say! Mumtaaz was so psyched!

They were in the Ibrahim's sitting room giving advice to Yasir.

"Remember, don't express your feelings to her today." Farid was saying.

Yasir raised his eyebrow in question, he was so amused that it took all his willpower to prevent him from bursting out with laughter. Ali and Farid were giving him ridiculous advice including how to eat and talk, as if he couldn't practice good manners.

"So what you're trying to tell me is that I should play her?"

"No, what I mean is, act coy. If she knows you like her already, she might take you for granted."

"Yes," Ali nodded in support, "and don't forget the flowers."

"Flowers, does this look like the nineties?"

"Ya sadiqi all girls love flowers, roses will do the trick."

Yasir nodded and was about to talk when the door to the sitting room opened and Hafiz, Amman and Nabeel came in.

"Salam ya rijal," Hafiz said in his usual care free tone.

"Salam guys, your maid let us in Yasir." Amman said.

"She's his cousin Amman, not a maid, she's too beautiful to be a maid." Hafiz protested.

Amman rolled his eyes.

"Wa alaikum salam," Yasir greeted. "And Hafiz, Ala is our maid not my cousin."

Nabeel burst out with laughter at Hafiz's disappointed expression, "his mother will never accept a maid as her daughter-in-law."

Just then, three maids came in Ala included with trays filled with pastries, coffee and drinks. All Hafiz could do was stare dreamily at Ala.

All of them burst out with laughter when the maids took their leave.
