Description: Cathi had been an archangel. And Sam Winchester's best friend since high school. She was the youngest out of the archangels, the little princess. Even Lucifer had liked her. And Castiel had loved his sister so much. But the souls he consumed, the wanting of all that power. Cathi tried to save him. To help him. And he had smited her on the spot. The guilt and pain will never leave any of them.
Sam and Dean were sitting in the bunker's library. Dean was on the computer looking at..........whatever it was he used the internet for, and Sam was reading some lore books. Castiel came in, walking slowly, head down. Dean looked up at him. "Hey Cas. What's wrong?" The angel looked from Dean over to Sam. "Sam...........I........I was visiting the site Cathi was burned and buried at," Sam's eyes teared up, ".........And I found this. I thought you might want to hold on to it."
Cas pulled out a silver wings shaped locket. Sam remembered that. He had given it to Cathi on her 16th birthday. It was actually the only present she got for her birthday, considering her foster mother didn't even know Cathi existed except for when she would beat her.
Sam took the locket from Cas. He opened it up. Inside was a picture of Cathi and him just a few years back. At Stanford. She had encouraged Sam to go to college. She even went with him, studying to be a nurse. In the picture they're standing in front of the campus' café, Cathi's recent ex standing in the background with a black eye and busted lip. Sam huffs out a laugh at that. He had beat up the guy for hitting and shaming Cathi.
Cathi had always had a hard life as a human. And later when Sam found out she was an angel that had become human and lived through that pain to watch over him........he had cried on the spot, in the middle of a biker bar. Yeah, real manly. Sam smiled at the memories. Then remembered she was gone. Forever. Apparently even angels die.
A single tear fell over Sam's face. "Thanks Cas." He managed to choke out. Dean stood and asked Cas if he wanted a sandwich or something. Cas realized that Dean wanted to leave Sam alone, so he said sure and they both left the room.
After they were gone, Sam sat down and let himself cry. He thought about how kind and gentle Cathi had been. But she was never naïve. She had still been kickass while being compassionate. She only fought when she had to. She had saved Sam, and even Dean, more than once. She never fought with the other angels, and had never hated any of them. Not even Lucifer. And she had never thought that Castiel of all people would kill her. But everyone remembered her last words. She had said through blood, "I forgive you. All of you." She hadn't even shed a tear.
Sam took a breath and wiped the tears away. Cathi had been his best friend. The only one who stuck by his side no matter what. She may be gone, but everyone still felt the ghost of her presence. Sam went up to his room, got on his knees, and prayed.
"Cathi, I know you won't hear this but.....I need to talk to you. You were the best person I knew. You saw good in even the darkest souls. Even in the soulless. Hell, you're other best friend was a freakin' demon named Fir. And I'm sorry about her. None of us knew Rowena would kill her. I guess she's where ever you are? Is there a place for dead angels and demons? Look, I just want to say that, I will get you back. I don't care how many books I have to look through, how many psychics I have to go to, if I have to sell my soul to Satan himself. I will get you back, and when I do, I'm going to give you your locket back and never let anyone touch you again. And just so you know, Cas is really sorry. You may have forgiven him, forgiven all of us, but he still feels awful. That first week he got back from purgatory, he almost took an angel blade to himself. He said he should still be dead, but we coaxed him out of it. Plus, he probably would've came back anyways, so it would have been pointless. Thanks for listening again Cathi. Never forget that you're still loved even in death."
With that, Sam went to bed. He lay there in as deep of sleep as a hunter can be, clutching the locket tightly to his heart.
A/N: I'M SO SORRY!!!! T_T I'M AWFUL!!! I'M SO MEAN TO A LOT OF MY OC'S! Please don't hate. It just came to me. I had to write it down otherwise I'd be crying myself to sleep again. I hope you're not reading this right before bed. Again, So Sorry!!!
