You squinted into the orange and pink mixture of color in setting sun, wiping the sweat from your forehead. It had been a tough day building onto your house and finding raw materials. You dropped your diamond pick axe to stretch backwards giving your aching muscles a chance to relax. A few dark clouds floated in the fading sky. Soon creepers and other things that go bump in the night would be approaching. Looking towards you cave you saw something glitter in what was left of the light. You loosely grasped your steel sword, 'It could be diamonds, I could make a diamond sword" hope fluttered in your spirit. You wanted a diamond sword for the longest time now and it was surely worth the risk. Bending over you swung the heavy pick axe over your shoulder. A warm breeze blew away from the cave, almost if telling you to go back and be safe.
"Lets go get them diamonds!" you said enthusiastically as your pig Hamlet oinked wobbling over to you. He was the fattest pig you ever owned, he slouched against your leg nearly knocking you off balance.
"Hamlet go home" you pointed in the direction of your small but nice home that sat on a low rising hill. You glanced back at it yourself, surrounded by some lush trees and bushes that bore fruit, a few pigs hobbling along in their pens. Home sweet home. Hamlet took a good 5 minutes to turn and start walking back. The darkness began to set when you finally lit a torch.
You waited a moment, eyes scanning the surroundings, looking for any movement. None. The night was dead it seemed, almost complete silence. Taking in a deep breath you assured yourself and began the walk to the cave through the trees. You whistled a tone to distract your mind and ease your nerves, the sweet melody made the night not so scary but adventurous. You approached the mouth of the cave slowly, the wind rustled in the trees.
"Its okay just the wind" you thought with false hopes to reassure yourself and not go running home. Shuffling in you stuck the torch into the wet, cold earth. Far off water dripped in the cave the small echo an annoyance but ignorable. You raised you axe were the rock was soft and easy to break. It hit with a loud crack of stone, your muscles cringed in memory of this familiar movement. You shook it off and continued to hack away at the rock going deeper and deeper into the cave. You found a lot of stone a few iron ores and 1 diamond ore. If it wasn't a diamond you saw, then what was it?
"Ugh this was useless" your muscles screamed in pain, tomorrow was going to hurt. You huffed, bags forming under your eyes. You raised your pick axe hanging it over your shoulders. A sharp deep pain hit your shoulder blade, you screamed falling to your knees. A skeleton was standing in the mouth of the cave, the grey bones and worn bow scarcely visible in the dying light of your torch. Warm red blood seeped down your back, making a disgusted shudder run through you. Drawing your sword you charged the monster, it pulled back another arrow aiming surely for your heart. You reached it just before it let the arrow go, with a hard slice of your sword you slayed the creature. You got lucky and it dropped its bow and a few arrows, your left arm felt weak from blood loss.
"F-fuck" you cursed starting to walk home as fast as you could. Your muscles were sore, heart beating faster and faster, lungs heaving when you tried to jog. Stumbling towards your home you tripped on a tree root. All the air escaped your lungs, you struggled to breath. Your sword and new bow out of your reach, a blur of white graced the darkness flitting away again. You listened to the woods, a distorted cry brought your attention back to all the dangers surrounding you. A lime green blob with 4 stubby legs tottered towards you, your eyes went wide with fear. A creeper would either kill you or you would be badly scarred.
"H-help" you wheezed out pushing yourself the best you could away from the monster, it shambled closer with each moment. You squeezed your eyes shut waiting for the searing and immense pain to come, tears rolled down your cheeks. A piercing cry filled your ears, you opened one eye expecting another to have appeared. Instead a large man dressed in a plain teal shirt and jeans stood in front of you, holding a diamond sword dripping with green blood. A long diagonally gash across the mangled body of the creeper lay in front of you, your eyes locked with your savior. The glowing white orbs startled you, the way the glowed was strange enough. He stood next staring down, the features of his face shrouded in darkness and mystery.
"You live on that hill correct?" his deep gruff voice asked, offering you a hand up.
"Y-yes" you took his hand gratefully trying to push yourself up with your other, your muscles tightened around the arrow. Unable to completely contract you arm gave and you landed back into the moist grass. The spot were the arrow was now numb from adrenaline and exhaustion.
"I will carry you" He went over and kneeled by your head picking you up from under your arms and heaving onto his strong back. Your arms hung loosely over his shoulders, your chin fully resting on his shoulder as well. A thick blush blanketed your face. His body was warm in the chilly night, you snuggled and pushed yourself against him. Greedily absorbing the warmth your own body could no longer supply. He smelled of pine trees and something else you couldn't exactly figure out. Sliding the sword back into it's sheath with his free hand incase of anymore dangers that may lie ahead.
"Thank you" you mumbled, he glance over his shoulder at you and started a long stride. He was much taller than you which would mean the walk home would be much faster. He grumbled something in response, your legs wrapped around his waist. A deep and worrying rumble came from the skies above, ominous clouds loomed over your heads. The moans of zombies grew closer, the shuffled out of the woods after you. Your savior paid no mind and kept walking, you tensed increasing your hold on him.
"Don't worry they will die soon enough" he turned giving you a smirk of confidence, you nodded. The faint lights of your house grew brighter and brighter with each step, the trees swayed in the wind, the pigs huddled under the small roof. The first few drops of rain started when you reached your house, 10 or more zombies followed behind. Taking his hand off your leg he opened the door, the warm and welcoming smell of your home lulled your shattered nerves. He left the door slightly open, the lightning lit the sky outlining the various creatures approaching your home.
"What's your name?" you question shaking looking out the window, never before had you see a storm so fierce it lit sky.
"Herobrine" he stated waiting for something, he must be feared because he tightened his grip on you. A few seconds later his shoulders relaxed, slowly dropping you off his back realizing you had no legitimate fear of him.
"Your name is?" he turned towards you his face finally visible. He had a strong jaw line and chin with a stubbly goatee, shaggy brown hair, and olive skin. All around he was attractive in a tough, burly, cocky way.
"______" you replied watching a small smile come onto his face. The pointed teeth showing beneath his lips. Rain pounded on the roof, lightning flashing in the distance. The deep rumble of the thunder reverberating in your chest. The door groaned getting hold of your attention. A soaked zombie staggered in, water dripping onto the wooden floors.
"Damn pests" Herobrine stomped over to the door slamming it on the zombie's fingers. You flinched at the sickening sound of bones breaking, the zombie yowled as a few severed digits fell to the floor. The small fire in the fire place fought to stay alive desperately needing wood. Herobrine noticed the dying flame and threw a log in, in mere seconds the fire consumed the wood.
"ow" you whimpered wrapping your hands around the base of the arrow, your body shook violently. This would hurt and would take a lot of time to heal.
"Don't be a baby" He said standing behind you, you quickly turned not wanting him to ripped it from your flesh.
"There's an arrow in my shoulder blade" you narrowed your eyes at him this was one of the times when being a baby was acceptable. He laughed holding his gut, you were taken a back by his action.
"Hun take a look at these" he moved so his back was to you, he reached back and lifted up his shirt. Scattered across his back were spiraled, complete and segmented scars. Each one a light peach color, the skin look thinner than the rest, forever healing. Your hand found its way to his longest scar that stretched across his back. He stood still allowing you to poke and prod him like an animal. The teal shirt slid back down his back, blocking the scars from your prying eyes.
"Now stop whining and come here, I'm an expert" His hands held your shoulders gently and turned you.
"That's not a good thing to be an expert at" the sly comment earned you a small gruff cackle. The arrow wiggled in your shoulder telling he just gripped the base.
"1....2" he jerked the arrow out not even bothering to say 3, with the arrow removed blood rolled in steady streams down your back. You gritted your teeth together blocking out a small portion of the pain, the numb appendage springing back to life. Your shirt would be forever stain with your blood, He gripped your shirt pulling it over your head.
"H-Hey" you protested against him, but with your sore arm you just let him do as he pleased.
"Where's your medical stuff?" you pointed to the cupboard in the kitchen, he went over to it your eyes never leaving his back. The scars and pain that he must have experienced earning those marks. After pushing a few things out of the way he finally found the kit and came back over. Sitting it down on the table be unfurled a roll of gauze, some cotton bandages and disinfectant.
"So what were you doing in a cave that late at night?" he asked pouring some disinfectant on a swab. You gasped sharply as the medicine made contact with your skin, you practically felt the germs being killed. He blew on it sending cold shivers down your spine. He cleaned off the trail of dry and wet blood, unclasping your bra in the process.
"Hey!" you shouted pivoting to face him, holding your arms across your chest.
"You want this done right or not?" he glared down at you, leaning in closely to your face. The way his glowing orbs saw deeply into yours made you turn you head away. You let the clothing fall to the floor, he carefully wrapped the gauze around your torso. Trying to remain still as the lightning clashed and thunder roared.
"You never answered my question" he grumbled pulling the gauze securely around you. You made sure to cover yourself. Feeling slightly foolish for risking your own safety for the sake of diamonds.
"I was looking for diamonds" your voice full of defeat and disappointment, today was just not your day. He handed you your shirt and bra, a tattered hole from where the arrow hit you stained with blood. You rubbed the fabric between your fingers feeling even stupider and 'Herobrine probably thinks I'm an idiot' you thought. He sighed and chuckled lightly placing a hand on your shoulder.
"Been there done that, and I don't think your stupid" He then patted your head, you felt like a dog. You felt violated in a way that he could read thoughts which could be the only exploitation for his creepy insight. Rain pounded against the roof and windows, lightning and thunder yelled and roared outside. The warmth of the fire circulating around the small home.
"You can stay here for the night if you want, but there's only one bed" your eyes met for a moment, he broke the short silence clearing his throat.
"Yeah I think I will" he said looking outside another lightning flashed blinding you. You squeezed your eyes shut, small colorful circles dotted your vision for a few brief moments and faded. Putting your shirt back on you walked over to stoke the fire from a small burning flame back to a decent fire. Your bed squeaked as he laid himself across it, your bed was quite small to save space, so he didn't exactly fit. ' Ok I'm going to sleep in the same bed with a guy who saved me from certain death and might kill me in my sleep' pulling yourself together the best you possibly could you walked over the the opposite side of the bed. His eyes followed you,a smirk on his lips there was no doubt he red your thoughts.
"I don't explode like creepers you know" he remarked crossing his arms of his chest when you slid under the covers. Holding the sheets tightly in your fists, controlling your shaking. It wasn't that you were afraid just that it always felt weird being so close to someone.
You let out a small laugh to relieve some of the tension and yourself. With you back to him you kept your eyes firmly trained on the wall, the orange glow of the fire slowly faded. Nervously you looked over your shoulder, instantly meeting a glowing white pair staring back. The muscles in your back and neck tightened in suspended animation. He blinked and closed his eyes, you pulled your legs into your stomach. Curling into a ball. Resting your head on your soft pillow, you breathed in deeply, and quietly calming yourself enough to relax.
He turned onto his side waiting a few minutes, slowly your eyes began to close. The fire now smoldered into embers, leaving the lightning as the only form of light. Sleep began to take hold and you allowed yourself to slip away, just as you went lax an arm pulled you closer into a spooning position. His warmth penetrated the thin sheets lulling you into an even deeper sleep.
