Space. When you think of space, a dark void of stars and planets is usually envisioned. However, what people don't know is that there are many creatures that live in space itself, or rather the area between asteroids, stars, and planets. They swim in the darkness, feeding on stardust and smaller organisms. Among these are two creatures of interest: Avysoss and Komako.
Avysoss was courageous, friendly, and outgoing. That is, when he wasn't hungry. When he was hungry, he was untrusting, vicious, and wild. So he ate often, or tried to. Food was often scarce where he lived. That happens when you live in the vast void of space. Avysoss resembled that of a large, humanoid angler fish. Avysoss himself was as large as a 6 foot man. His body was dark blue and transparent, leaving his insides visible. He was built like a mermaid is imagined, upper half being humanoid and lower half being a tail, the end of his tail being a sharp hook. He only had one eye, which was pitch black with a bright, almost white blue pupil that glowed brightly. Covering his entire body were sharp spikes that glowed in the darkness of space, and atop his head was a dangling light. His mouth was filled with sharp teeth and his tongue was long, forked, and black. His face was covered in white spots that seemed to be alive and swimming around underneath his skin. His hair was dark blue, darker than his skin, and wasn't really hair at all. It was part of his skin. It flowed to the right like it was greased back lightly, and it also had the strange swimming spots, except they were black. His entire body was built to make him look like a top predator, and indeed he was.
Komako was sarcastic, goofy, and trustworthy. Her body was more humanoid than Avysoss, being she had legs instead of a tail, but was the same transparency. However she was much more colorful. Her main body was a light-ish blue, her face was dark magenta, and her alleged hair was indigo. She was around the size of a 3 foot girl and was slightly on the chubby side. Her cheeks were plump, her waist was small, and her thighs were curvy. She shared the same white, swimming spots on her face that Avysoss had, though she had a lot more. She had two eyes, both were black with bright, nearly white blue pupils just like Avysoss. She had sharp teeth and a small, round, blue tongue. The same blue her body was. Her so-called hair was messy, would reach to around her ears if she had any, and slightly curly. Just like Avysoss, the white spots were also in her hair. She was short, and looked a whole lot less menacing than Avysoss did, but if you angered her, she would beat you up. Even if she didn't look it, she was tough, and she was smart. If she couldn't beat you physically she could easily outsmart you.
The two lived side-by-side, much to Avysoss' dismay. He specified that he doesn't need friends, that he'll only end up turning on Komako. Of course she didn't listen, she was his friend after all. Friends stick by each other's side. Friends make sure that they aren't lonely, no matter how badly they wish to be. Komako knew he only wanted to protect her, but she felt the same way. Who knows what would happen to Avysoss if he was left all alone in space. Even if he was a ferocious predator, he still needed company. Being alone in a vast area such as space is definitely overwhelming.
Now of course, at first glance, there's not a whole lot to eat in space. But if you were to look deep into space, you would find that there are many small creatures that inhabit it. These creatures vary in shape and color, though they are all around the size of guinea pigs, and exist solely on stardust. These creatures made up the diets of Avysoss and Komako. The only problem is that they travel in small, spread out groups. If they would find one of these creatures, it meant two or three more would be nearby. This made finding them difficult, as they were sparse among the infinite plane of space. Furthermore, there is no sound in space. Therefore, the two made absolutely no noise as they were physically unable to. To communicate, the two could speak telepathically with each other, and no matter how far away they were from each other, when they communicated it sounded as if they were right next to each other.
One day, while Avysoss and Komako were searching for prey, they came across a solar system. In this solar system they found a lovely planet called Earth. The planet was beautiful, a swirling sphere of white clouds, blue water, and green land. They were mesmerized. Avysoss, being curious, swam closer to this planet. Komako warned him, "Avy not so close! You'll enter the atmosphere!" He looked over at her and gave her a thumbs up, swimming closer still. Komako yelled out at him again right as he found himself being pulled closer by the gravity of the planet. Komako swam quickly to him, grabbing his hand and attempting to pull him out of the gravitational field, but the fight was lost, both of them tumbling into the atmosphere. They fell close, holding on tight to each other. The blazing air burned against their skin as they fell, wind whipping them viciously. The two plummeted, the immense pain of the fall knocking them both out.
