Komako stood up and picked up Avysoss without waiting for a response. She started trekking through the thick wood, not really knowing where she was going or what she was looking for. Eventually, they came upon a river. Komako set Avysoss down again, exhausted. She sat down, her feet dangling in the water. Avysoss laid on his stomach next to Komako. He looked at the river with interest.
"Koma, isn't that water?"
"Yeah."
"So, we can swim, can't we?"
"We can, but I think the current is too strong. It'll carry us away."
"Oh..."Komako nodded, staring at the water rush past her feet.
A few yards away, a teenage girl was taking a hike. She wore a hot pink crop-top tank top with a design of a red heart that seemed to be dipped in chocolate on it. She wore chocolate brown booty shorts that had a lighter brown fringe around them. Her hiking boots were chocolate brown and reached a little lower than her knees. Her hair had a half shaven cut and was naturally brunette. Her longer side was on the right, reached to around her chin, and was dyed maroon, her brunette roots peeking to about half an inch. Her short, shaven side was brunette. Her eyes were a dark, chocolatey brown, her right eye partially covered by her hair. Her skin was fair, and she was rather curvy, around 5 feet. She looked slightly chubby, but she was actually just muscular. She was strong and athletic. Her name was Sokula. Currently, she had her headphones in, which were blasting loud rock n' roll music, her MP3 player in hand. She was taking her daily hike through the woods, heading for the river, where she liked to sit and draw.
She was nearly at the river when she noticed that there were two unfamiliar figures sitting at the river. Confused, she took her headphones out of her ears and rested them on her shoulders. She stepped closer, calling out. "Hello?"
Komako didn't hear her, for she could not hear. Instead, she saw her out of the corner of her eyes. She looked up quickly, locking eyes with the human girl. Her lips moved, she was saying something. "Hello? Who are you?" Komako nudged Avysoss, making him look up. His eye widened, frightened.
"That's one of those creatures that captured us!"
"I know."
"Is... is she here to recapture us, take us back?"
"I'm not sure... keep your guard up."Komako narrowed her eyes at Sokula, standing up. Sokula was intrigued, drawing closer still to the pair. Their eyes remained locked. "Uhm... H-Hello?"
Sokula realized that Komako was not replying, not even reacting to her words. The thought ran through her mind that she does not understand English. When she stood across the river from them, she realized the other one was staring, wide eyed, at her as well. "Wow..." She barely whispered, amazed at what she was seeing. She had created a bridge out of large rocks across the river, but as soon as she took a step onto it, Komako sneered, showing her teeth. Startled, she slipped on the wet rock and landed in the river. The river was small and wasn't that deep, so she sat waist-high in the freezing water. She leaned against the rock she slipped on to keep herself from drifting along with the strong current. Komako's sneer turned into a smirk, clearly amused at this scene. Sokula attempted to get up, falling over a few more times, before crawling out of the river and back onto the opposite side. She sat, hugging her knees and shivering from the ice cold water she was now drenched in. She realized that Komako didn't trust her, so she stayed still, shivering, cold and wet.
Komako, still extremely amused, felt that she didn't seem all that bad, and if she was here to recapture them, that she could fight back. Bravely, she crossed the stone bridge successfully and smirked, mocking her. Sokula smiled, finding it funny that this short creature was mocking her for her failure to cross the bridge. Komako saw her smile and felt a gut feeling that she wasn't going to attack them. Feeling a bit safer, she began circling Sokula, analyzing her. Sokula followed her with her eyes, intrigued as to what she could be. She has been at this river all her life and she had never seen them before. Sokula looked across the river and saw Avysoss, untrust still in his eyes. Unknown to Sokula, Komako and Avysoss were having a conversation.
