12 Days of Ficmas!

Day 1- A Partridge in a Pear tree

"Taiki-kun, could you pass the salt?" Sota asked, his mouth half full of his natto. He frowned slightly when Taiki didn't respond, "Taiki-kun, the salt.. please, " He said again.

"Oh Taiki-kun, I need the salt. Could you pass it over?" Hayate said sweetly, casting Sota a sideways glance.

"Oh of course!" Taiki smiled as he passed over the salt.

"Why do you guys do this on me?! You do it on purpose I know you do!" Sota whined as he slumped into his chair.

"Well we don't do this on accident" Toru replied with a chuckle. He set aside his plate and propped his chin up with his hands.

"Is something the matter, Toru-sensei?" Yudai asked as he passed a salt shaker to Sota. "You seem a bit off"

"Eh? Who me? I'm fine" He reassured.

"Toru-sensei..." Taiki warned. Taiki hated when one of them kept a secret from the rest. Of course, he respected each of their personal lives, but each of them should feel comfortable enough to share what bothers them. They have been a group for almost six years now.

Toru frowned slightly and let his gaze fall to his half-empty plate, "Well, to tell you the truth, I'm a little stumped. It's almost Christmas..." he trailed off.

"Did you find a gift for your partner?" Sota asked as he ate.

"That's the problem. I can't decide what to give them." Toru admitted, "Do you guys have any ideas?"

They all fell silent as they thought, "Ah ha!" Yudai exclaimed and hit his fist against his other hand, "I've got it!" he smiled.

"Well then, spit it out!" Toru said as he sat up a bit straighter. He had a feeling Yudai would know what to get his love. 

"While I was looking around for a gift for the one I like and I thought of something. Have you heard of the song '12 Days of Christmas?" Yudai asked the group. "You know, the one that goes, On the First day of Christmas my true love gave to me..."

"A partridge in a pear tree!" Sota finished.

"I know the song, but what does that have to do with this? I can't simply buy a pear tree and a partridge. A more realistic idea please, Yudai" Toru sighed. He had high hopes for the singer.

"No no no!" Yudai said quickly and shook his head, "On my way here, I saw a small shop with a pin in the window."

"And it was a partridge in a pear tree?" Taiki piped up.

"Bingo!" Yudai exclaimed, "It was beautiful, made of silver and diamonds. The price wasn't too bad either." He added. "But I'm sure the price doesn't matter to you does it... Toru are you leaving us already?" He chuckled as he watched Toru put on his jacket.

"I need to get it before someone else does. I-I'm sorry, we can eat another time," was all Toru said before running out of the room.

"Toru-sensei really loves his partner, doesn't he?" Hayate smiled.

You frowned to yourself as you looked down at your watch. Toru was never late. The two of you had arranged this date for the past few days, so why was he late? You looked back down at your watch, not to check the time, but to admire it. Toru had given this to you a few months ago after you were late to one of your dates. You told Toru that your phone died so there was no way to tell the time. The next day he walked up to you with a little box with the watch inside. He was always so thoughtful with you.

"(Y/N)!" Toru called out as he rushed over. Sweat beaded his brow and he was panting heavily. 

"Toru!" You exclaimed and laughed when he hugged you and lifted you into the air. "You made it, I was beginning to think you had forgotten about me" You teased as he set you down.

"Me? Forget about you? You've been on my mind since day one" He smiled and kissed the top of your forehead.

You blushed lightly and put your hands in your pockets, "It's a bit chilly isn't it?" You stated.

He gave you a knowing smile and took out a pair of gloves, "Put these on. You're going to freeze" He said as he lightly took your hands in his and helped you put on the gloves.

"Thank you Toru" You smiled and looked up at him, "Christmas is almost here, isn't it?" You said with delight.

"Oh yes! Speaking of, I got you something." He said dug around in his pocket until he pulled out a small box, not bigger than your hand. "I know Christmas isn't for a few more days, but I wanted to give you this early," he said and motioned for you to open it.

With a giggle, you opened the box to reveal the most beautiful pin you have ever seen. You looked a bit closer and saw a tree with a bird on it. "Toru.." You said softly and looked up at him, tears building in the corner of your eyes, "It's so beautiful"

"Its beauty reminded me of you" He smiled and wiped your tears. 

"Merry Christmas"
