"Yeah. We sure are." For some reason, I couldn't help but feel unsafe about this whole trip.
"Oi, mate, cheer up. Soon we'll be living the big life, ain't we?" His northern accent chimed at me. It made me feel safer knowing that I had my loyal companion and childhood friend by my side at the most nervous time of my life.
"You're right, Ollie," Ollie, that was my nickname for him, "We will survive out in the big city."
