"Why are you still here? You know you can leave, right?"
"I can't."
"'You can't.' What do you mean, you can't?"
"I can't be here."
"If you can't be here, why are you here? Why do you stay, if you can't be here?"
"Because I force myself to."
"That doesn't make any sense. Why are forcing yourself to? Are you trying to prove something?"
"I'm trying to teach myself to stop quitting so damn early in the game, to stop leaving things I initially had a strong passion for, but then give up after I learn it's not as easy as I'd wanted it to be, or expected."
"Dude, you've been here for years and years. That's quite a long time, isn't?"
"No."
"Seriously? Thirteen years here, and you don't think that a long time? That's almost a decade and a half!"
"I'm just getting started."
"How long is this going to take you?"
"My whole life."
"Wait, what? How old are you?"
"Old enough."
"No, seriously, how old are you? I know you're at least legally an adult, being in a place like this, but that doesn't change the fact you look both so young and at the same time, so goddamn old."
"If you really want to know, I've been here since I was 35."
"Wait, what?! So you're... that's around 50, isn't it? You're 50?!"
"Correction: 48. And yes, yes I am."
"But you look legitimately like you're in your 20s! How is that even remotely possible?"
"I'll tell you, but promise me you won't tell anyone."
"Yeah, promise."
"Immortality is a beautiful thing."
