~ Mike's POV ~
"Nate, you are not serious? You can't survive alone, and the police will find you and take you back. It will make it all worse!" I said.
"I already made up my mind. I am going to go tonight after taking some food and other supplies from around the house." Nate sternly said, "I have been thinking about this for a while, and I determined it is the only option after what Dad did to you."
"Nate, if you are sure, I will come with you. I cannot just let you go alone."
"Mike, no. I cannot let you come with me, I don't want you to get hurt either."
"I would be killed here if I stayed and you ran away. I would lose my temper and end up doing something stupid without someone to talk sense into me."
To go back a bit, I would lose my temper a lot and nearly go downstairs and break everything my parents own, but Nate would always calm me down. Always. The one time he wasn't there, I broke the table, 2 windows, and a picture of Auntie Beatrice at Paw's funeral. I was in a living hell for 2 months.
"I refuse to not go with you. I need you and you need me. How do I know if you can even defend yourself against some perv or murderer or something?" I said in a panicky tone, mainly because of the threat of the one person I cared about in this world being hurt or worse.
"I'd be fine. You worry too much. I ca-" Nate started to say before I stopped him.
"I am going with you, and you get no say in it." I said right before we heard the door creak and someone stomping downstairs. I knew exactly who it was. Zach.
