Prologue
She checked herself in the mirror one last time, making sure her long brown hair was still in the perfect ponytail she had pinned it up in earlier that morning. You can do this. She repeated to herself multiple times, needing a reminder that everyone will love her, just as they did at her old school. She can feel her soft hair brushing between her shoulder blades as she walks to the front desk of her hotel, handing her room key to the receptionist.
"Thank you, have a nice day." The blonde haired, brown eyed receptionist dismisses her in a cold tone, obviously jealous of the beautiful brunette checking out.
Once the girl finishes checking out she goes to her car, a sleek black convertible sports car that she got for her 16th birthday. She rolls back the top, seeing as it's mid august so it's still very warm. After she reminds herself for the umpteenth time that she needn't be nervous, she finds herself pulling up to her new college, where she will be starting her junior year. She parks close to the front of the administration building, the car makes a beeping sound when she locks it, catching the attention of some- okay, most passer-by's. A group of boys wolf whistle when she walks by, admiring her long legs that are shown off with her short-shorts. Though her flowing white tank top and dark denim shorts are slightly showy, they are nothing compared to half the other girls, who look like they came here straight from the strip club.
She hands her ID and registration forms to the lady at the front desk, who scans over them quickly before smiling at the young girl, "Welcome to the University of Kansas!"
The girl smiles back, and gladly takes the key to her new dorm room from the receptionist. As she walks through the halls, attempting to find her room, there is some whispering going on around her.
"Oh my gosh! That girl used to go to my old school!"
"So?"
"Oh right, you didn't go there.. Well, at Pepperdine she was practically famous. I mean, every girl wanted to be her, every guy wanted to be with her. She was known for her no-strings-attached relationships, she was the biggest party girl you'll ever meet."
"Oh, why did she come here? I mean, you make it sound like people at Pepperdine were asking for her autograph!"
"Oh, some did. But to answer your question, I'm not sure. She had it all, probably got some amazing offer here or maybe her family moved or something."
The two blondes weren't all too quiet, but nevertheless the junior they were gossiping about didn't hear them; however, everyone else did. The students were soon swarming around the two poor girls, trying to find out more about the hot new girl.
Having to dodge students left and right, the new student finally gave up on trying to navigate her way on her own and decided to ask someone for directions.
"Hey, leather jacket," she calls out to the first guy she sees, who happens to be pretty hot. He has dark brown hair and emerald green eyes, he looks kind of pissed when someone grabs his jacket but when he looks at the gorgeous blue eyed girl all anger is forgotten. "Where is dorm 423?"
"Um.. it's.. uhh.. It's um, on the fourth floor, the left hall." He finally seems able to form a sentence, and she is shocked to find he has a British accent, but easily hides her surprise, she is a drama major after all.
The pretty girl nods and turns to leave, but snaps her head back when someone snatches her arm, it's the same boy she just got directions from, "Um, what's your name?"
The young girl gives the nervous boy a heart-stopping smile, "Addison. Addison Kost."
