Chapter 28: Good things have to end

[Lucy POV]

I smiled at my reflection. I was sitting on a pink stool in front of an oval mirror, braiding my hair. I like loose braids, tight braids make my head hurt, and trust me, I hate that feeling. I doubt anyone likes it. I finished off the braid by tying it with a light blue ribbon. I placed the braid on my right shoulder.

I stood up and walked over to a pink door. I turned the door knob and walked in. I looked around and saw a simple white dress. I grabbed it and went to the bathroom.

I got out and twirled around. My dress flew around my legs and waved around my knees as I came to a stop. It had spaghetti straps and a light blue string around my waist, with dangling strips going down the side of my white dress.

"Good outfit, Lucy!" I complimented myself. I pinched the edges of my dress, expanded it out, crossed my legs, and bent down. "Your highness, you are very lovely." I tried to change my voice to sound like a male, but failed horribly.

I then heard a giggle from the door. I looked at it and saw Zeref standing there smiling at me.

I blushed and stood up straight.

"That was lovely, Lucy." He clapped.

"What'd you expect from a person who gets locked in a room for like a week now, gets their bookshelf burned down, and now all they can do is play with their clothes."

"I mean...you have me." Zeref grinned a bit.

"What do you mean?" I raised an eyebrow.

"Well...it depends on how you interpret it. Like I can act with you...or we can..," He ran quickly towards me, looking like he teleported in front of me, air blew in my face as he stopped right in front of me. He leaned in my ears, "do it." I gasped and fell backwards.

I flushed, "W-What are you thinking!?"

"It's not like you got anything else to do, right?" He chuckled.

"..uh-uh well..mm...you see.." I then started to get a headache. I fell forward, but was caught by a pair of arms.

Na-Natsu?

I blinked a few times before I completely opened my eyes. I sat up and leaned on the wall my bed was leaning on. I sighed. What happened?

I stared off into space, until something touched my right hand. I looked to the side and saw Zeref sitting on a chair next to my bed, with his head laying on my bed, eyes closed. I looked at my hand and back at Zeref. I widened my eyes as my face started to get red, from the bottom of my face to the top. I silently tried to slide my hand out of Zeref's grasp, but failed when Zeref awoke.

"You're finally awake." He yawned.

"Yeah. Why does it matter?" I crossed my arms.

He narrowed his eyes at me. I raised an eyebrow. He leaned in and I leaned back. He kept on getting closer, but I kept on moving back.

"Stop moving!" He finally shouted. I shook with fear and stood still. He leaned in and I closed one eye. His hand came close to my face, but right when I thought he was going to hit me or something, he touched my forehead. I looked at him in shock. "Thank goodness. You don't have a fever," He sighed.

"Are you worried about me?" I asked.

I swear there were pink lines on Zeref's face, but I couldn't look at him any longer because he turned away, "No. Knowing you, you would be fine if you got ran over by a car."

I widened my jaw, "Right when I thought you were a good guy. I take it back."

It seemed Zeref sighed and muttered something under his breathe. I tilted my head, but forgot about it a second later.

"Hey Zeref." I spoke.

"Yes?"

"What did you even do with Mavis' body when you...killed her."

"I turned her into my most treasurable item."

"Item? She is not an item!" I glared at Zeref.

"Would you like me to call her a lifeless body in a crystal that's been kept underneath Fairy Tail?"

"What?"

"In more simpler and less words, I contained her body in a crystal."

"Her body is still here?? Usually vampires' bodies vanis-"

"Yes, but this crystal keeps Mavis' body from rotting."

"You have ano-another reason don't you? The reason to keeping her in a crystal.."

"Maybe. If I do, have any idea on what?"

"To sea-seal her powers."

"And why would I need to do that?"

"...My body is the only hope of destroying Zeref!"

"Because she's the only one that can destroy you.."

"Oh? How did you find that out?" Zeref sounded like he was amused.

"Hunch?" I nervously laughed.

"Mm.." Zeref thought, and looked at the window. "Yes, she is the only one that can destroy me because she is the only one that holds, that power."

"Which is?"

Zeref got up from the chair and walked over to the window, which was illuminated with orange, yellow, and pink colors of light. He smiled, but it wasn't a kind smile, nor a creepy smile, or a sad smile, it was real, evil, mischievous, it was such a horrible sight. Dark, purple fire surrounded Zeref, "A power which can grant an unlimited power supply, Fairy Heart."
