Alice was taken back by this boys profoundness it reminded her of things once said and done. "The way some people embrace the world is so mysterious to me. I see a woman caring for her child and know someday they will be ripped apart, I see the water moving, hearing ripple as it makes it way back to see never to do it quite the way ever again." Alice paused for a moment as if taking in a deep breath yet no sound past through her mouth nor nose. "I see myself, and I see a childhood, a wretched childhood. I see my later years with such things no one else can understand not even one like yourself." Pausing once again looking into the boys eyes. "I look at you and I see someone quite unlike myself, someone much closer to the sky. For I look at the sky and gaze at it's wonder as it holds the whole universe in it's hands understand thing as they should be." Alice's dark grey eyes seemed to waver, the emotion bursting forth yet sealed in by a deep cloudiness.

"I've had my head in the clouds for a long time, and believe me, it's not what it always seems." The boy shook his head and put his thumb and pointer finger on the brim of his nose."I can't remember the last time I felt down to earth, so surreal, so normal. You, my dear girl, have it all, for you do not want to hold the clouds in your hands as you look up at the bright heavens before you." His voice ended with a sigh, head shaking back and forth with annoyance."Being so close, yet unable to reach it is unimaginable." His thoughts came out loud and he gritted his teeth with regret. The boy wasn't willing to share his fears and frustration to a random girl he found along the beach, yet alone one who looked like she didn't care about anything or anyone, not even herself."Just be happy with what you have for once, got it!" He snapped, turning swiftly on his heels to walk away, giving up on enjoying to view of the moon tonight.

"I'd rather take things in a daze then have to feel the brutal blow every time!" Alice yelled after the boy, her nose scrunching up in confusion at his words.'What does he mean he is unable to reach it?' She thought to herself, folding her arms over her chest in aggravation, kicking sand up like a two year old. Life wasn't fair and she didn't want to change her opinion for anyone, no one wanted to change their opinion for her so it shouldn't matter. Yet she felt the sinking feeling in her stomach only deepened as she realized the boy was right, his words had stuck a chord she had long hoped to have buried. A single tear fell down her cheek and she hesitantly wiped it away, allowing the drop to fall onto the sand below and vanish into the ocean as the waves covered her feet.
