It was eerily silent. The moon rode high in the dark, starry night and the fronds swayed quietly through the mild obscurity. Nothing but the crickets foretelling chirping made a sound. Growing brazen from the distance, a loud roaring noise shattered the peaceful atmosphere recklessly and ripped through the scene wildly. It's engine thundered the road as it passed, ending the ghostly silence.
"Workin' on our night moves! Come on, Sammy!" Sam's legs were bunched up close to him as he tried to concentrate on what he was reading. His brother frowned as the song proceeded on its own, so he waved in Sam's face to get his attention. Angrily, Sam put down his tattered newspaper and quickly turned off the radio. Then he spoke with a stern tone.
"Dean, we've got a case. We're on the job. This isn't some sort of holiday."
"Aw, come on! We've never been here before, so why not relax a little?" Sam paused, then stared at him with narrowed eyes. He picked up the paper again, then pointing roughly to the strange article he was previously reading about.
"A man was found dead with his body practically frozen and weird, wire-like marks across his body. He was found near some place called the 'Mystery Shack'. I've got a feeling maybe whoever works there has got something to do with it." Sam pointed to the picture of the strange shack. Dean stared at the picture with bewilderment, then shrugged.
"Sounds like some weird murderer to me, and his body probably froze overnight or something." Sam sighed, then pointed to another part of the paper.
"It says here that his body looked fresh when he was found, so it wouldn't really be possible for someone to freeze in a short amount of time like that. Also, it's the middle of summer, so it would be practically impossible to physically become frozen just like that in the heat, even overnight. I figure we should check out the owner of the shack." Dean took the paper out of his brother's hands and read, his eyes scanning the paper.
"Stanford Pines. Sounds weirdly inviting to me. Well, I guess we have to check it out since your little head's permanently rapped around it." Sam shrugged, not saying another word as he looked outside the window to spot the welcoming sign of the town.
'Welcome To Gravity Falls.'
*So this was a short start, but the next chapter is much longer than this. I hope you enjoyed the first part but as I read over it, I hated it xD*
