*Gabriella's P.O.V*
As soon as I woke up, I knew today was gonna be a bad day. 1.) My straightening iron was broken. 2.) My makeup palette was missing. Kayla must've took it. 3.) All of my nice clothes were in the washer. So today I had to wear jeans and a t-shirt. Whatever. I wasn't really gonna go all out on my outfit today. I had a bowl of cereal, grabbed my bags and walked to my bus stop. The bus was 10 minutes late today. That's odd.
When I got to school, Jacob was waiting for me at the front gate. "Hey. Why are you laye today?" He asked. "My bus was late today." He hugged me and slipped a note into my back pocket. "What is that?" I asked nervously. "Open it during lunch." He said. We walked to first period silently. Neither of us said a word. When we got there, he walked over to his football friends. I turned back and saw that there was a new girl.
I walked over and introduced myself. "Hey my
names Gabriella. What's yours?" I asked. "My names Brynn. Nice to meet you." We talked and got to know eachother a little better. I had a feeling we would become very close friends. When the bell rang, we walked to Lunch together. We got our food at met with Cassey outside. They introduced themselves to eachother. "Brynn can we see your schedule?" I asked. She pulled it out of her binder and handed it to me. "OMG she has chorus 7th period with us! She's gonna love Ms. Kauffman." I exclaimed. Cassey turned to her and stared talking to her about Ms. Kauffman. I then remembered the note and pulled it out of my pocket. It stated:
Gabriella,
I didn't know how to say this to you in person so I decided to write a note. I know we've been dating for a long time but I think it's time we pause our relationship. Lately I've been confused in my feelings and I don't know what's wrong with me. Don't get me wrong, I will always love you, but I love you so much I don't want you to get hurt later. I think it's best if we just be friends. This is as hard for me as it is for you. We both need time to think this over and I will come to you when I'm ready. I still love you Gabriella, remember that.

I immediately start crying and Cassey and Brynn look at me. "Gaby, what's wrong?" Cassey asks. I hand her the note and start running to the bathroom. Brynn runs after me and Cassey stays to read the note. Brynn gives me a big hug and keeps repeating, " Everything's gonna be okay, Everything's gonna be okay." When Cassey walks in she looks furious. She goes on and on about who stupid he is and how he shouldn't have done this to me.
Whatever.
I skipped the rest of school and just went home. At 2:50, when school lets out, Cassey called and asked if she can come over. Of course I said yes. 10 minutes later Brynn and Cassey were at my house. I just sat there for hours crying while they were trying to cheer me up. It was useless. I missed Jacob so much. It had been 5 hours since we "paused our relationship" and it feels like it just happened. Over and over again I reread the note in my head. I'm pretty sure Cassey threw out the note. Whatever, it deserves to be in the trash. As Cassey and Brynn kept talking, I drifted off and fell into a heavy sleep.
