Chapter 2

HOLLY'S POV

" Who is he?" Haley pestered. Her brown eyes sparkled mischievously.

" I don't know," I snapped, flustered. Haley crossed her arms stubbornly.

It's already late and we are done buying new bags and other stuffs so we decided to go home now. As you can read, Haley is questioning me about the guy who've I met before.

" When did you last meet him?" She demanded.

" Uh.....a few minutes ago," I mumbled. I can't concentrate. We were outside her car when she screamed.

" A few MINUTES?!" Haley shrieked. " What HAPPENED? " She continued.

I opened the door of her car and get inside. She also opened the door and get inside. She is seated at the drivers seat while I'm on the passengers seat. She started the engine and went off the road. I know that she's waiting for my explanation. So I took a deep breath before I start.

I told her everything, stuttering and mumbling most of the time. Haley laughed and laughed and I can't stop blushing.

" Oh my gosh! " Haley giggled, wiping a phony tear from her left eye. " You're so red you look like a tomato!"

That made me blush even more. " I regret saying anything to you," I tried to say it menacingly but it came out as a meek mumble.

" whatever," she sang. " I'll have mercy on you. I'll be changing the topic to school. You nervous?"

I shrugged. " A little. But aren't we all?"

Haley shook her head vigorously. " Not me. I'm itching to show off my new look." Haley had cut her hair into shoulder- length curls. It matched her more.

I wrinkled my nose. " Well, I'm not"

Haley wrinkled. " Holly, you're beautiful." I look out the window. " Says who?"

After a few hours of driving on the road, the car stopped. Haley climbed out from the driver's seat. " You coming out, Honey?"

I climbed out of the car. I checked my watch for the time, and winced. "It's late already. Howcome I didn't even notice?"

The guards opened the gates for us to enter. We walked and walked until we reached the main door of our mansion. I wish my mom are sleep already. I'm about to hold the doorknob when it twists and open.

" YOUNG LADY, WHERE HAVE YOU BEEN?!" my mom thundered. I knew this would happen. Her voice booming across the front yard. She stood at the door, her arms crossed. She was scouling disappronvingly.

I turned to Haley for support, but she had already climbed into her car and was driving down the street. "Bye,Holly!", She hollered.

What a friend.

I grimaced. My mom had started walking inside the house and i followed her. Woooh! I felt my sweat running down my cheeks. I'm still following her to our living room until my mom stopped and turned atound to face me with her eyes asking for an explanation.

I'm so dead.
