Raven groaned as she turned her alarm off. Today was the first day back to school and she was in no way excited. "See what happens when you decide to binge watch shameless the night before school starts" she mentally scolded herself.

She stretched her limbs and headed to her restroom for a quick shower. After her shower she combed her wavy shoulder length midnight blue hair. She smiled , it was her favorite color and her mother wasn't to happy about her dying it. But raven had insisted and her father didn't see the harm and so her mother back downed and grumbled under her breath.

Ravens mother and her father were an odd pair in a way they balanced each other out. They weren't completely opposites but her father was slightly more adventurous and outgoing while her mother was strong yet patient.

Raven patiently listened as her father once again described his first meeting with her mother, "She was beautiful, she was a goddess and i knew at that moment i had to do something to get her to pay any attention to me. So i got up with confidence and marched my way towards her and then I......- tripped"

Her mother finished. " kira You stole my thunder!" Her father exclaimed. "Oh hush , you put to much dramatics when telling her how we met" her mother rolled her eyes laughing.

Long story short raven's parents met , dated, lived together, married, moved to America where Scott is now a published author and kira is a artist and had raven who is now a teenage girl.

Raven laughed at the memory, her father was a heck of a story teller. Taking one more look at her appearance in the mirror. She wore blue skinny jeans and a black hoodie over her grey tank top with a pair of black converse. She made her way downstairs to eat breakfast with her parents.

"You know im getting used to the blue hair its actually nice" her mother smiled.

"Told you she'd get over it" scott winked to his daughter.

"Ouch!" He exclaimed when kira smacked his hand with a spatula. "I don't see what the big deal was anyway you used to have purple streaks in your hair" he grumbled rubbing his bruised hand.

"Really !? Mom you were kinda cool back in the day" raven smirked.

"Both of you shut up and eat, and im still cool" her mother answered taking a seat. Both raven and her dad continued to snicker throughout breakfast.

A lot of raven's relatives always said she turned a lot like her mother. Raven liked to think she was both her parents. She enjoyed art and literature just as her mother and father did. She looked a lot like her mother appearance wise with her tan skin and naturally long and what used to be black hair that she dyed. But she had her father's emerald eyes and deep down the urge to seek adventure just as he had in his youth.

"Im off to school bye mom, dad " raven announced as she grabbed her black book back and ran out the door.

When raven finally arrived to school it took all her willpower not to cringe.

"Ok its the first day of school, you can't get detention on the first day school, must resist urge to punch anyone" she told herself as a annoying skater guy continued to wink at her.

"Blackwooooood you look good , see you grew over the summer" he slurred eyeing her up and down.

"And i see you're still the same dumbass as you always are" she shot back walking pass the skater.

First period was a complete bore, raven struggled to keep awake watching the school news hosted by chaz the bragger and tina who could barley form a sentence without stuttering.

Her fight with sleep was completely one sided, sleep won and she knocked out in the middle of class only to be woken up by someone clearing their throat.
