Above is a 2016 political map altered to show the borders between the Democracy and the Republic. You will notice that some of the Democracy states are in red, but this is because we are looking at a 2016 map, which won't give us information for the year 2122. By the time of our story, Montana,Ohio, Kentucky, West Virginia and Indiana have become Democratic. Also note that while this book is based in the future, this world does not have an overload of Technology overuse. This is to emphasize the theme of political power.
