I ducked outside my window as I heard footsteps coming closer to my room, then mumbling. My room door opened and I held my breath as mike and my mom walked around my room, opening my closet and pacing.

"Do you think she came back?" My mom slurred her words, she was obviously drunk or drugged up.. At 5am.

"I hope not." Mike scoffed. I rolled my eyes at his rudeness.

"Mike, why is the window open?" Shit. I reached out to grab my bag, and tried to crawl to the side of the house with the garage without making a sound.

Before I even moved five feet, mike stuck his head out the window, and stared right at me. Fuck. "ANNABELLE. GET IN HERE RIGHT NOW." He yelled, but I quickly got up and sprinted to the garage, my bag flying behind me.

My mom and mike must of ran through the house, because they were in the front yard before I was even there. Mike ran up to me and grabbed ahold of my wrist, gripping it tighter than before. I winced at the pain, and tried to pull away.

"What the fuck do you think you're doing?" He growled at me. His breath smelled like gin.

"Get off of me, Mike! Mom, help! Get your drunk boyfriend off me!" I screamed, struggling to get out of his grip. But of course, my mom didn't do anything, she stood on my front porch, watching, taking another sip out of a vodka bottle.

"You don't talk to me like that!" Mike slammed me against my moms car, and I flinched at the action.

"Leave me the fuck alone!" I yelled, frantically looking around for neighbors, but we were the last house on a dead end street, with one other deaf, old lady neighbor. "Fuck you!"

Mike twisted my arm sideways, causing me to shriek out in pain, but my adrenaline got to my head as I whipped my body around, and threw Mike into the car window. Glass flew everywhere, hitting my forehead and bare arms. I grabbed a piece of glass off the pavement and held it towards Mike.

"Don't fucking come near me!" I yelled as I started to back up, then made a run for it. Mike quickly caught up to me after a couple feet, blood dripping from his forehead. I turned around and slashed his arm in front of me, and he screamed in pain.

"Are you fucking kidding me? I'm calling the police!" He ran back to my house, and went inside as I sprinted down my street, then took a turn to the closest bus stop. I heard police sirens in the distance, so I hid behind a small garbage can near me as I watched the police cars drive by, then take a turn on my street.

The bus came a minute later, and I jumped onto it, hoping for it to take me anywhere, just somewhere.

"Hey, wake up." A mans voice said. I blinked my eyes awake to see a large man shaking me. "This is the last stop. Get off, missy." He said.

I grabbed my stuff, and walked off the bus, the man yelling behind me, calling out that I needed to pay him, but I ignored him. I walked around the busy town I was in, not familiar with it. I decided I would need a car to rent, if I wanted to get to la from Wisconsin, where I was. I walked to a car dealership and talked to them, which it was surprisingly easy renting a car, and not much money. I picked out a small, ratty looking car that didn't cost much, and I was on my way. This was going to be my home for the next few days on my way to La.

I jumped into the drivers seat of my car, and said out loud "well, welcome home.", then started off on my journey.

"Are you fucking kidding me?" I yelled as I slammed on my car heater, begging for it to turn on as I sat in a grocery parking lot, hoping to sleep, parked there.

My heat wasn't working at 12am when I pulled over. My phone buzzed from a text, but I ignored it as I checked google maps, seeing that I only had 7 more hours until I was in la. I rolled my eyes, threw my phone to the passenger seat, and tried to get comfortable and sleep.

I woke up to someone pounding on my car window. "Mrs? Mrs!" I blinked my eyes open.

"What?" I mumbled as I rolled down my window.

"Ma'am, you've been out here all night, and unless you're going to shop, then I'm gonna need you to leave." I rolled my eyes, then got out of the parking lot.

I continued my long ride to la.

While I drove, I jammed to All Time Low, smiling to Alexs lyrics and his amazing voice. I'd been a fan for over four years, but it's gone past a fan. They had done so much for me, and they've helped me through everything. I loved all of them, but Alex always had a special place in my heart. I'd seen all time low live only twice, because my home state wasn't a popular one, and I never had the money to travel far. But those nights were the best nights of my life. He kept me alive.

Take a turn off onto exit 29 Siri told me, and I did so. After four or five constant days of driving, and ignoring the thoughts in my head of police finding me, i finally got to the grand old state of California.

Welcome to Los Angeles I read on a big sign, and smiled as I drove past it, listening to Kids in the Dark. I made it. I left my stupid family and was really going to start my new life.

For real this time, I promised myself I would never turn back.
