5: Telling Parents
Niall:
We had talked to Y/Ns and my parents and they had both agreed to come over today for lunch. I could tell Y/N was getting more and more nervous as the time for our parents to arrive grew closer. And to be honest I was getting a little nervous too. But I tried to push it aside and focus on her and making her feel more comfortable. "Sweetheart, it will be fine. I will always be here for you. Always. Always always always always. Ok?" I say and she laughs a little. "So how long will I be there for you?" I tease and she looks up at me with a smile. "Always," she replies quietly. "Sorry, couldn't hear ya over the delicious smell of this soup," I say and she laughs again. "ALWAYS" she screams and I laugh along with her. "That's right. Always. And no matter what anyone else says about this baby it won't matter to me." I say pulling her into a hug. "Ya? We'll still raise this little guy into the bestest person we can and they'll have super powers because I'm actually super man." I say trying to get her to laugh again. "God, this is actually happening. We're actually having a baby aren't we-" "YOU WHAT?!" I hear from the front door. Oh no. I see Y/N's eyes go so wide and she looks so surprised. "BABY?! YOU'RE HAVING A BABY?!" Her mother yells into the house. This is not what I had planned. "Um, hi mum," Y/N says quietly, releasing herself from my grip and walking towards the front entrance. I follow close behind her, wanting to be there if she breaks down or something. "My baby? Is having her own baby?" Y/N's mum says and she doesn't sound angry which is good. Y/N's dad comes in behind with a huge grin on his face. "Is this what you two wanted to tell us?" He asks and I nod, happy that he seems to have a positive attitude about the whole thing. "Oh my god, sweetheart! Im going to be a grandma!" She says and I laugh because she is happy about it. "Ya, um, congratulations. Sorry you had to hear it like you did," Y/N apologizes. "Oh Y/N/N no we should have knocked! But I, so happy for you two. Congratulations!" She says, bringing both Y/N and I into a big hug. I grin and hug her back. "Well, what is all this?" I hear my mum say from the door and I look up. I'm still grinning like an idiot and aparently my mum can tell that I'm overly excited because she raises her eyebrows. "You two gettin married yet? Is that it? Your engaged?" And I laugh because it's not really that far off. "No, oh Maura our babies are having a baby!" Y/N's mum yelled out and ran over to give my mum a hug. I laugh at Y/N's mum's excitement. And to think I was nervous about her reaction at first. "OH MY GOD REALLY?! Oh Niall!!!" She says, running over and giving me a huge hug then pulling Y/N into the hug too. "A baby?" I hear my dad's voice. "Ya, Bobby, a baby!" Y/N's dad says. "Congratulations son! And you too Y/N! Oh you too will make such great parents." He says and I smile at the thought. This went SO much better than I expected.
Louis:
"Babe, you ready?" I called to Y/N. I had the laptop out on the coffee table in front of the couch and Skype was already open. To day was the day we called her parents to tell them about the baby. I was incredibly excited. "Ya, almost. Hold on a sec," she called back and so I did. A minute later Y/N came in with a mug of tea in her hands. I smiled as she sat down next to me. "Alright, here we go!" I said as I pressed the call button on Y/N's parents' Skype. After a couple rings Y/N's parents picked up and I saw her mum on the screen with a big smile on, obviously happy to see us. "Louis! Y/N! Hey guys! How are you two? Oh it's been far too long. You need to call us more often!" She said. "Oh, Y/D/N come here! Lou and Y/N/N are on Skype!" She called behind her. "Hi mum, it's so great to see you too! And I know we don't call you often enough, I'm sorry, but we've got some news for you when dad comes." Y/N grinned and I could tell she was excited. "Ooh! News! Y/D/N HURRY UP THEY'VE GOT NEWS YA SLOW POKE!" She called again and Y/N and I laughed. Y/N's dad came in a minute later "alright, alright, I'm here I'm here now what's the news?" He said out of breath. "Well, you may want to sit down," I say and he looks at me funny. I just nod and so he sits down next to Y/N's mum. "Well..." I start but then look to Y/N and she looks back at me "WE'RE PREGNANT!" She screams and she is just so excited it makes me so happy. "Wait, pregnant? As in a baby? Like you two had..." "Oh my god mum!" Y/N yells out before her mum could finish the sentence, blushing bright red. "Yes, yes we did," I grin, teasing Y/N. "LOUIS!" She shrieks and we all laugh at her. Except her of course. She just pouts, smacking my shoulder lightly. I play hurt though and pretend to cry while she just scoffs and my immaturity. She loves it really. "Oh you two are so cute, and now a little Tomlinson- Oh, what are you gonna do about the last name?" Y/N's mum points out. "It's gonna be a Tommo, mum." Y/N answers and I grin at her. "We'll be a whole Tomlinson family soon," I hint at her and her parents freak out on the other side of the computer. Y/N looks at me with an excited look, telling me she got the hint. I say nothing more about it, however, and turn back to her parents. "Alright, Mr. And Mrs. Y/P/L/N, I'm gonna have to go now so Y/N and I can go tell my mum too. But we'll talk to you soon, ya? And we'll keep you informed about everything we learn about the baby." I say and they nod. We exchange our goodbyes and love you's and then we disconnect. "So, should we head over now?" Y/N asks me and I nod. Now for my mum.
