The small jolts of the bus making it's way to my desired point didn't bother me much. Although, my head kept banging on the back of the seat, but I know I needed to catch up on sleep. Dad always told me that little girls would turn into monsters when they didn't catch enough sleep, which's why he would tuck me in at precisely seven thirty. I never got to stay up late. But I wouldn't complain then.

I wouldn't complain now either. There was no one to complain to. Even if I could say something bad, I would think that the stranger in the back would call me a whiny child. Also- complaining is a lot of work, and moving the muscles in my mouth requires effort I shall not put in.

So I fell asleep, and kept that way for the next two hours. My arms were folded against my chest, and my ankles crossed each other in a rather comfortable position. But before I knew it, the arrival of the newfangled city arrives and it is time for me to get off. I was jarred awake once more by the bus driver's deep yet raspy voice, telling me it was four in the morning and time to get off. I collect my belongings and start to make my way towards the door, until I'm cut off by the stranger who had been sitting in the back the entire trip. Were they awake during the entire period? Maybe they had something to keep them away that I don't.

I give a quick thanks to the bus driver, and once the soles of my shoes meet the concrete of Beach City, he shuts the door hastily and goes back towards what I believe is a bus port. I take in a long whiff of this new air, which is much more saltier than what I originally imagined. But it's bitter air makes sense; "Beach City". I shrug the straps of the novelty backpack up my right shoulder while letting it dangle from my left.

Before I start walking, I look around for the stranger that shared the bus ride with me. Alas, they're no where no be seen from my point. I didn't get a good glimpse of them, other than the fact that they were wearing a large, khaki double breasted trench coat. If I was a police officer or something, I would definitely render that as suspicious. But hey, I'm only thirteen and I don't think any city would trust me with their law enforcement. Especially if I'm a runaway.

The bus driver dropped my right on the outskirts of this city. Once I start walking again, I catch a glimpse of Rehoboth Bay, and now that I start looking up more I also notice the Beach City Water-tower. Once I meet the entrance of Beach City, I look to my left where it seems like the boardwalk is as well as an amusement park, then to my right where there's a longer line of homes then leading towards another boardwalk aligned with shops. Instead of taking out my phone and looking at the map there, I whip around to look at the large wooden board with a large map of Beach City. I place my index finger on the map, tracing it down to the point that was in large red. That was the "YOU ARE HERE" point, if I'm not mistaken.

I move my finger all the way to the boardwalk and count the seconds, before bringing my finger back and counting the seconds to the other boardwalk with all of the shops and stuff. I can't help it but my eye keeps twitching. I know that between last night and now, my sleep schedule has been entirely thrown off track; but when you're running away, would you ever have time to take a nap?

It looks like it'll take less time to reach the boardwalk, but I choose to go the other way. The boardwalk just seem too eerie for me. But it's not like I'm afraid or anything!

I stretch a little, pulling my arms across my chest, then shaking my legs a little to get in a walking mood. After that sleep on the bus, my arms and legs have been stiff and needed a little bit more blood running in them. And after that is when I start trekking to the boardwalk with the many shops aligned to the side. Leaving the board with the map, I start walking while slowly increasing my pace. I pass by houses, all dimmed down since obviously, everyone is asleep. I check the time hastily with my electronic; it's 4:30 A.M. I'm glad I remembered to make the screen duller because if I kept the light on high, I may have temporarily blinded myself.
