"WHAT!!!!!!!!" They both screamed excitedly.
"Yeah, I found my mate, that was the guy you were talking to-"
"CADE" Adam screamed like a banshee.
"Yes, Cade. I smelled him in the hallway and he smelled me and-and-and-"
"AND WHAT!!!! AND WHAT, LAZ!!"
"And I guess, the moon goddess made us together and we're mates and I guess I have to see him again."
Dad just started crying and sitting in his old rocking chair.
"Laz, I-I don't know what to say. I always thought your mom would be here for this and I'm just so happy for you." Just as Dad said that the doorbell rand and our pizza was here. We ate dinner pretty quietly, Dad asked about school and we answered. Dinner was full of small talk and then we both went to our rooms to do homework while dad went to his office to take care of business (Just in case you didn't know my dad is the Alpha of the Blue Moon pack and Cade's Dad is the Alpha of the Black Blood pack). After I finished doing homework, I got changed into a black camisole, black booty shorts, and black knee high socks. I was listening to Take Me Dancing by Will Joseph Cook and I started to dance. Suddenly, I heard a whistle and a chuckle. I turned around to find Brody, who just happens to be our neighbour, snapping pictures of my ass. I had left my balcony curtains open.
"BRODY YOU ARSEHOLE DELETE THOSE RIGHT NOW!!" I felt Laira's presence grow and then subdue. Thank god she calmed down.
"Why should I? Will the little girl get mad?" He asked teasingly. I groaned and flipped him the bird.
"Oh honey, I could make you moan louder than that."
"Screw you Brody Anderson! And fyi I found my mate, so why don't you go find yours and stop creeping on me." Shit, I didn't mean to say that, but Laira, my wolf, took over and I lost control. When I looked again Brody had run off. Good, thank god, I just want to go to bed now and with that I tucked myself into bed and fell asleep listening to the beautiful music of Amy Winehouse. BEEP BEEP BEEP BEEP, my alarm woke me up at 7:00 am. Great, I have just enough time to do everything I need to do this morning. I showered, dried my hair, put in a waterfall braid, did my make-up, and got dressed in a maroon crop top, light blue high-waisted shorts, and maroon hi-top Vans. I went downstairs, grabbed some breakfast, and started walking to school. As I was walking to school, a car pulled up next to me and rolled down the window.
"Hey, sugarplum want a ride?" Brody said in his sickening voice.
"No thanks, I'm good. I'd rather walk today."
"Ok, but I just want to tell you one thing."
"What is it, Brody?" My God, he is so annoying!
"You have one FINE ass!"
"Fuck off, Brody!" I crossed the street and walked into school. The day passed rather quickly and when I got to lunch, Odessa was telling everyone that we should go to the party because there will be lots of drinks and we will all have fun.
"Okay guys. so me and Mari will meet at your house after school, right Laz."
"Yeah, sure that's cool." I said nonchalantly. The rest of the day passed in a blur. After school we all rode in Dessa's car to my house. When we got to my house Dad was leaving, probably to take care of business. He quickly looked at my friends, got in the car and left. I unlocked the house, we got some chips, and went to my room to get dressed up for the party. Odessa had decided on wearing a pink bodycon dress with some black platforms and Mari had decided on some black booty shorts with a cut up Cage The Elephant shirt and some black Vans. After much deliberation we all came to agree that I should wear a green skater skirt, Neighbourhood shirt, and black Converse. We all did our hair and make-up and got ready to go to the party when I saw Adam getting ready to leave with his friends. he gave me a disapproving look and walked out, my family isn't much for using words unless it's a major life event.
We eventually arrive at the party and get out of Dessa's car. While we were walking up to the house, I immediately caught his scent and went weak in the knees. Good thing Dessa and Mari had already run off to some other people or they might have seen my reaction and embarrassed me. I still remember what Mari said happened did when Dessa found her mate. Suddenly I'm pushed against a wall and feel a hot breath on my neck. I realize who it is from his husky, deep voice.
"I'm glad you're as excited to see me as I am to see you. Come get a drink with me." I walked into the kitchen and poured myself a drink of vodka and Coke. I turn around to find Cade has disappeared and my brother is sucking faces with a random bimbo in the corner. Typical Adam, I thought. He has always been such a ladies man, he could practically get any girl he wanted. That's why I'm always there to keep him in check, but tonight I decided to let him have his fun. I ventured upstairs and was on my way to the bathroom when a strong pair of hands pulled me into a room.
"Okay, first of all we have to stop meeting like this." As I said this, my eyes met with a pair of striking, lustful eyes. Once I said this we both pulled into a passionate kiss, but I guess I'd had to much to drink because I can't remember what happened after that. CURSE MY LOW TOLERANCE FOR ALCOHOL! When I woke up I was in my room and Dessa and Mari were sleeping on my futons. Thank goodness I have such good friends and that Mari was the DD. Dessa rolled over and fell off the futon, she hit the ground with a solid thud and groaned before opening her eyes. She walked over to me and gestured to me that we should go get some Advil to relieve us from the horrors that come with a hangover. We walked down to the kitchen and found large plates of steaming food and a note from my mom.
"Honey, I know you probably have a hangover, so I made you and the girls some pancakes, eggs, and bacon. I also laid out some Advil and orange juice. I had to go to work but I'll be back at midnight. Love you!"
