"It's tonight," Tylee says to her family at breakfast, "the big party is tonight," Tylee Hayes yelled excitedly, she couldn't wait for the Big Macnair Island Hula Party, she had been convincing her mom to let her go, now that Tylee had turned 17, her mom was finally giving in.
"hey shit-head, don't you have to go make yourself uglier, or is that even possible?" Tylee's older brother Trevor yelled.
"Now Trevor, you know we don't use that language around this house," Tylee and Trevor's mom said in the calmest voice she could find.
"So, about the Macnair Island Hula Party," Tylee brought up before her mom interrupted her.
"You're not going Tylee, we've talked about this before, those parties aren't appropriate for young girls your age, you know that," she stated, as if she would never change her mind. Tylee knew there was no point in continuing the conversation, but Tylee wasn't going to give up, not for a million years. Even if she did decide on no, Tylee would find some way to sneak to the party without Trevor knowing, or her mom, especially her mom.
